Admit Card Details
Candidates can download the NORCET-11 admit card from the AIIMS examination website after it is uploaded. No admit card will be sent by post. Candidates must carry the downloaded admit card to the Computer Based Test and hand it over to the invigilator after completing the examination. Permission to appear in the examination and issuance of an admit card will remain provisional and will not confirm eligibility.
Candidates should verify their name, photograph, examination date, reporting details, examination centre and other information printed on the admit card. Any request for a change of the allotted examination centre will be rejected.
Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates must fulfil the applicable eligibility conditions by the closing date of online registration.
Option I: B.Sc. Nursing
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council-recognized institute or university; or
- B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council-recognized institute or university.
- Registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
Option II: GNM Diploma
- Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council-recognized institute, board or council.
- Registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
- Two years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the required educational qualification.
The required experience must be acquired after completion of the course residency period, declaration of result and registration with the State or Indian Nursing Council. The applicable educational qualification, registration and experience must be completed on or before 13/08/2026.
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit for Nursing Officer posts is 18 to 30 years as on the closing date of online registration, subject to the recruitment rules of the respective participating institute or hospital.
The notification provides the following relaxations beyond the upper age limit of 30 years:

For ex-servicemen, the applicable relaxation is length of military service plus 3 years for General candidates, plus 6 years for OBC candidates and plus 8 years for SC/ST candidates. PwBD candidates must have a benchmark disability of at least 40% and the post must be identified as suitable for the relevant disability category.

The vacancies are tentative and may be changed, increased, withdrawn or supplemented before the recruitment process is completed. The category-wise total vacancies mentioned in Annexure-V are as follows:

Participating institutes include AIIMS Avantipora, Bathinda, Bhopal, Bilaspur, Bhubaneswar, Deoghar, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Kalyani, Mangalagiri, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Rae Bareli, Raipur, Rewari, Rishikesh, Vijaypur, AIIMS-CAPFIMS, and other institutes or hospitals that may be included as per the notification. The notification states that 80% of seats are reserved for females and 20% for males at participating AIIMS, as per the cited decision.

Stage-I is qualifying in nature and will not be used for preparing the final merit or rank. The qualifying percentile is 50 for UR/EWS, 45 for OBC and 40 for SC/ST. PwBD candidates receive an additional 5 percentile relaxation, making the qualifying percentile 45 for UR/EWS-PwBD, 40 for OBC-PwBD and 35 for SC/ST-PwBD. Candidates up to five times the category-wise seats, all qualified PwBD candidates and eligible tie cases may be called for Stage-II.

The qualifying marks in Stage-II are 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST. PwBD candidates receive an additional 5% relaxation. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in Stage-II NORCET Main only. If the examination is held in multiple shifts, the AIIMS normalization procedure will apply.
Selection Process
- Stage-I NORCET Preliminary Computer Based Test.
- Shortlisting of candidates for Stage-II as per the notified qualifying criteria and category-wise seat limit.
- Stage-II NORCET Main Computer Based Test.
- Preparation of merit list based on Stage-II performance.
- Invitation of institute and hospital choices from qualified and eligible candidates.
- Allocation of seats according to merit, candidate preferences and vacancies reported by participating institutes.
- Document verification and medical suitability assessment by the respective AIIMS or participating institute.
- Joining at the allocated institute or hospital.
Only one general round of seat allocation will be conducted. Candidates who receive an allocation from a filled choice will be required to join the allocated seat, subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions. No waiting list will be prepared for filling remaining vacancies.
Syllabus Details
The syllabus will be based on the educational qualification and experience prescribed for the Nursing Officer post. The examination will cover the syllabus of nursing courses taught at the essential qualification level, with the Stage-II examination focusing on case scenario-based questions designed to assess nursing skills and competency.
Documents Required at Verification
Provisionally qualified candidates may be required to produce the original documents along with one attested or self-attested photocopy of each document, including:
- Online application registration slip.
- Downloaded admit card.
- Date of birth certificate.
- SC/ST/OBC/EWS category certificate, wherever applicable.
- PwBD certificate, wherever applicable.
- Certificate supporting any age relaxation claim.
- No Objection Certificate from the employer, wherever applicable.
- Educational qualification certificates.
- State or Indian Nursing Council registration certificate.
- Experience certificate, wherever applicable.
- Any other document required by the respective participating institute.
Candidates working in Government, Semi-Government, Public Sector Undertakings, autonomous bodies or Government-funded institutions must upload the correct No Objection Certificate by the notified deadline. Failure to submit the required NOC by 18/08/2026 up to 5:00 PM may result in cancellation of candidature or non-permission to appear in the examination.
Examination Instructions
- Candidates must rely only on notices published on www.aiimsexams.ac.in.
- Applicants registered in a previous examination or under One Time Registration must use the old registration ID or OTR details.
- The photograph, signature and left thumb impression must be uploaded according to AIIMS specifications.
- Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, cameras, pagers, storage media and other electronic devices are prohibited in the examination centre.
- Impersonation, fabricated documents, unfair means, copying, misconduct or submission of false information may lead to cancellation, debarment and legal or disciplinary action.
- Candidates must follow all instructions printed on the admit card and must cooperate with frisking, security and biometric identity verification.
- The candidature remains provisional until final verification of eligibility, certificates, identity, category claim, medical fitness and other applicable conditions.
Pay Scale
The Nursing Officer post carries Pay Level 07 in the Pay Matrix, corresponding to the pre-revised Pay Band-2 of ₹9,300–34,800 with Grade Pay of ₹4,600. Selected candidates will also receive allowances admissible to Central Government employees of similar status stationed at the respective institute or hospital location. Service conditions, posting, seniority, transfer and career progression will be governed by the rules of the participating institute or hospital.
