Age Limit
The age limit is calculated on the basis of the date of birth mentioned in the Matriculation or equivalent certificate, with 01/08/2026 being the prescribed age cut-off date.

Eligibility / Qualification
- Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination or an equivalent examination.
- Candidates must satisfy the prescribed physical standards.
- Reservation benefits based on caste are available only to eligible Bihar domicile candidates, subject to valid certificates issued by the competent authority.
- Candidates from other states will be treated as Unreserved candidates for reservation and age-limit purposes.
- Candidates claiming BC or EBC reservation must submit caste, domicile and valid Non-Creamy Layer certificates.
- Candidates claiming EWS reservation must submit the prescribed Income and Asset Certificate for financial year 2024–2025.
- Persons with benchmark disabilities reservation provisions under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 are not applicable to this post.

For male candidates, the difference between chest measurement without and with expansion must be at least 5 cm. Female candidates must have a minimum weight of 48 kg.

The Physical Standard Test is qualifying in nature and carries no marks. Candidates must pass the prescribed physical standards without relaxation. Final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the main written examination, category-wise reservation and applicable minimum qualifying marks.
Exam Pattern
The written examination will be conducted at Matriculation or equivalent level in objective multiple-choice format. It will contain two question papers:

- Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
- 0.25 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer in both papers.
- The examination will be conducted on an OMR answer sheet.
- Candidates must secure at least 30% marks separately in each question paper to qualify for the Physical Standard Test.
- Approximately three times the number of category-wise vacancies may be shortlisted for the Physical Standard Test, subject to the applicable cut-off.
- Normalisation through the Equi-Percentile Method may be used if the examination is conducted in multiple shifts or with multiple question papers.

The final merit list will be prepared category-wise on the basis of marks in the main written examination. In case of equal marks, preference will be given according to older age, followed by higher educational qualification and then the order of the candidate's name in the Hindi alphabetical sequence as mentioned in the Matriculation certificate.
Admit Card Details
- Eligible candidates will receive the admit card online through the official CSBC website after completion of the application process.
- The admit card will contain the examination date, reporting time, examination centre and important instructions.
- Candidates should download and print the admit card and carry it to the examination centre along with a valid photo identity proof.
- Candidates must preserve the application acknowledgement and registration number for future correspondence.
- Information regarding the admit card and subsequent examination stages will be published on the CSBC website. No separate newspaper publication is required.
Documents Required at Verification
Candidates shortlisted for document verification must produce the original documents along with self-attested copies, including:
- Valid photo identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence or Voter ID
- Matriculation certificate and marksheet for date of birth
- Intermediate or equivalent pass certificate and marksheet
- Caste and domicile certificates for SC and ST candidates
- Caste, domicile and Non-Creamy Layer certificates for BC and EBC candidates
- EWS Income and Asset Certificate for financial year 2024–2025
- Prescribed Freedom Fighter Ward certificate, wherever applicable

Candidates will generally be required to attend document verification on the date fixed by CSBC. Failure to produce the required original documents may result in cancellation of candidature.
Medical Examination and Character Verification
Before appointment, selected candidates will undergo medical examination according to the applicable Bihar Police rules. Eyesight, colour blindness, hearing ability and stammering will also be examined. Candidates found medically unfit will not be appointed.
Character verification will be conducted before appointment. Candidates may be declared ineligible if adverse reports are received, facts are concealed, a criminal case is pending or a court has convicted the candidate.
Important Instructions
- Only one online application is permitted for each candidate.
- A valid mobile number and email ID are required for registration and communication.
- Candidates must enter their name, parent's or spouse's name, date of birth, gender and reservation category exactly as recorded in the original documents.
- Applicants must upload a recent colour photograph and signatures in English and Hindi in the prescribed format.
- After final submission, changes in the application details will not generally be permitted.
- Applications containing incorrect information, incorrect reservation claims, invalid documents or incomplete submission may be rejected.
- No hard copy of the application form or supporting documents is required to be sent to the CSBC office.
- The Bihar Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 will apply to the examinations conducted under this advertisement.
