Horizontal Reservation
A 5% horizontal reservation is available for eligible differently abled candidates as per the instructions issued by the Government of Bihar. The disability percentage must not be less than 40%.
Eligibility / Qualification
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
- The applicant must be studying in Class V in a recognized government or private school of Bihar.
- The school must be recognized under the Right to Education Act or affiliated with the CBSE or ICSE Board.
- The applicant must satisfy the prescribed age limit as on 01/04/2027.
- APAAR ID and PEN may be entered in the online form, but their entry is not mandatory.
- Candidates claiming reserved-category benefits must possess valid supporting certificates.
Admit Card Details
The Simultala Residential School Entrance Examination admit card will be issued online through the official examination portal. Candidates should download and print the admit card after it is released and verify the following details:

Examination and Selection Process
Selection for admission will be conducted in the following stages:

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Entrance Examination on the basis of the Preliminary Examination. Category-wise candidates up to 10 times the number of available seats will be selected for the Main Examination.

The Preliminary Examination will consist of objective-type questions based on the Class V syllabus prescribed by the Bihar Government.

- Each question carries one mark.
- There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Only candidates selected through the Preliminary Examination will appear in the Main Examination.

The Main Examination will be conducted in two shifts based on the Class V syllabus.

The total marks of the Main Examination are 300. The first shift is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, while the second shift is scheduled from 01:30 PM to 04:00 PM. Each shift will be of two hours and thirty minutes.

Merit List and Tie-Breaking
In case of equal marks in the Main Examination, the candidate of higher age will be given preference. If the marks and date of birth are also the same, preference will be given to the candidate securing higher marks in the first paper. If marks, date of birth and Paper I marks are identical, selection will be made through lottery.
Documents Required at Admission
Candidates qualifying in the Main Entrance Examination must appear before the Medical Board for health testing before admission. Admission will be granted only after successful medical examination and document verification.
The following documents are required at the time of admission:
- Caste certificate, wherever applicable
- Residential certificate
- Date of birth certificate
- Differently abled certificate, wherever applicable
- School leaving certificate
- Bank account passbook photocopy
- Original parent income certificate along with photocopy
- Other documents prescribed by the authority
Failure to produce the required documents may result in cancellation of the admission claim.
Important Instructions
- The application form will be accepted only through the online mode.
- Candidates and parents are responsible for entering correct information in the application form.
- The submitted application form should be downloaded and preserved safely.
- The registration User ID and password will be sent to the candidate's mobile number. Candidates should keep these credentials confidential.
- Photograph and signature must be uploaded in the prescribed format.
- Photograph size should be 35 mm × 30 mm, in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size of approximately 40–100 KB.
- The face size should be approximately 25 mm × 20 mm and cover around 60%–70% of the photograph.
- The photograph background should be plain white or light green.
- The scanned signature should be in JPG/JPEG format, approximately 3.5 cm wide × 1.5 cm high, and should not exceed 10–20 KB.
- No correction claim will be accepted after declaration of the examination result.
Examination Schedule and Centre
The Preliminary Examination is proposed to be held in the last week of October 2026 at designated examination centres in the headquarters of each district of Bihar. If the number of candidates in any district is fewer than 50, a centre may be allotted at the nearest district headquarters.
The Main Examination is proposed to be held in December 2026 at examination centres located at the Patna district headquarters. The examination schedule may be revised if required by the Board.
