Opening
National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Information Bulletin for Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026. The Admit Card will be issued online on the official website and candidates must download it to appear in the CBT exam scheduled on 17/07/2026 and 18/07/2026.

Age Limit
- JRF: Maximum 30 years as on 01/07/2026 (1st day of the month in which the exam is concluded).
- Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
- Admission to Ph.D.: No upper age limit.
Age Relaxation (JRF):
- Up to 5 years for OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwD / PwBD / Third Gender, women applicants.
- Up to 5 years for research experience (subject to conditions and certificate), but total relaxation shall not exceed 5 years.
- Up to 5 years for armed forces service (subject to conditions), but total relaxation shall not exceed 5 years.
Admit Card Details
- Admit Card will be issued provisionally subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions.
- Candidates must download the Admit Card online from the NTA website. No Admit Card will be sent by post.
- Candidates will be allowed to appear only at the allotted exam centre, date, and shift mentioned on the Admit Card.
- If unable to download the Admit Card, candidates can contact NTA helpdesk between 09:30 AM to 05:30 PM.
- In case of mismatch in particulars / photo / signature between Admit Card and Confirmation Page, contact the helpline immediately.
Documents Required at Exam Centre
Candidates must bring:
- Printed copy of Admit Card downloaded from NTA website.
- One passport size photograph (same as uploaded in the online application) for pasting on attendance sheet.
- One original valid (non-expired) Govt Photo ID: PAN Card / Driving License / Voter ID / Passport / Aadhaar Card (with photo) / Aadhaar Enrolment No. / Ration Card.
- PwD / PwBD certificate (if claiming relaxation under PwD/PwBD).
If the candidate’s name has changed due to marriage or other reasons, carry supporting document such as Marriage Certificate / Divorce Decree / Legal Name Change Document / Gazette Notification.

Prohibited Items at Exam Centre
Candidates are not allowed to carry:
- Textual material, bits of paper, printed/written notes
- Calculators, DocuPen, slide rules, log tables
- Electronic watches with calculator
- Mobile phone, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphone, pager, camera, tape recorder, or any electronic gadget
- Handbag, purse, geometry/pencil box, stationery, eatables/snacks, tea/coffee/cold drinks, water (loose or packed)
Note: Diabetic candidates may carry sugar tablets / fruits (banana/apple/orange) and a transparent water bottle. Packed foods like chocolate/candy/sandwich are not allowed.
Answer Key / Recorded Response / Result (Information)
- NTA will display Recorded Responses and the Question Paper attempted on the website before result declaration (likely for 2-3 days).
- Provisional Answer Key will be displayed and candidates can challenge it online by paying ₹200 per question (non-refundable processing fee).
- No re-evaluation / re-checking of result will be done.
JRF Stipend (Information)
- JRF stipend: ₹37,000 per month for first two years + ₹20,000 annual contingent grant.
- After 2 years (if registered for Ph.D. and on assessment), upgraded to SRF (NET): ₹42,000 per month for 3rd year and onwards.
Eligibility / Qualification (Summary)
- Master’s Degree or equivalent with 55% marks (General/General-EWS) and 50% marks (OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third Gender).
- Result Awaited / final year candidates can apply provisionally as per bulletin conditions.
- Candidates with a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with 75% marks (5% relaxation for reserved categories as per rules) can be eligible for JRF and Ph.D. admission, but not eligible for Assistant Professor based on 4-year UG qualification.
Exam Cities (Information)
Candidates must select four exam city preferences while filling the online application. The final allotted city will be mentioned in the Admit Card and cannot be changed after the correction window closes.
