Ten percent of the vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. A candidate may apply for only one post.
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit for all three posts is 18 to 27 years. The crucial date for determining age is the closing date for receipt of applications.
Age relaxation is applicable as follows:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age
- Central Government departmental candidates: Up to 40 years for Unreserved candidates and up to 45 years for SC/ST candidates
- Candidates ordinarily domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh during 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989: 5 years for UR, 8 years for OBC and 10 years for SC/ST candidates
- Children and dependants of persons killed in the 1984 riots: 5 years for UR, 8 years for OBC and 10 years for SC/ST candidates
Eligibility / Qualification
Head Constable (Laboratory Assistant)
- 12th class pass with Biology as a subject from a recognized Board.
- Minimum one-year certificate course in Laboratory Assistant from a recognized institution.
- Minimum one year of experience as a Laboratory Assistant in a laboratory diagnostic centre, hospital or institutional laboratory recognized by the Central or State Government.
- Age: 18 to 27 years, subject to applicable relaxation.
Head Constable (Physiotherapy Assistant)
- 12th class pass from a recognized Board.
- Minimum one-year certificate course in Physiotherapy from a recognized institute.
- Minimum one year of experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant in a physiotherapy centre or a hospital/institute having at least 100 beds and recognized by the Central or State Government.
- Age: 18 to 27 years, subject to applicable relaxation.
Constable (Nursing Assistant cum Medic)
- 10th class pass from a recognized Board.
- First Aid certificate course from St. John Ambulance Organization or the Red Cross Society of India.
- Minimum one year of experience as a Nursing Assistant in a hospital or institution having at least 50 beds and recognized by the Central or State Government.
- Age: 18 to 27 years, subject to applicable relaxation.
Candidates must possess the required educational, professional and other certificates by the closing date for receipt of applications. The name and date of birth recorded in the Matriculation certificate will be accepted for determining name and age.
Application Fee
The notification prescribes an examination fee of ₹100 for UR, EWS and OBC candidates. SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and female candidates are exempted from payment of the examination fee. The fee is non-refundable and may be paid through net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI.

The posts carry Dearness Allowance, Ration Money Allowance, House Rent Allowance and other admissible allowances as per Government orders and SSB rules. Selected candidates will be covered under the applicable Defined Contributory Pension Scheme/New Pension Scheme or Unified Pension Scheme as per prevailing rules.
Admit Card Details
SSB will upload admit cards and call letters on the SSB recruitment website. The admit card will contain details regarding the recruitment venue, date and time of the Physical Efficiency Test, Physical Standard Test, written examination, documentation and medical examination, as applicable.
Candidates should:
- Download and print the admit card before appearing at the recruitment venue.
- Report on the date and time mentioned on the admit card.
- Carry the admit card and all original documents claimed in the online application.
- Carry identity proof, Matriculation certificate, educational and technical qualification certificates, caste certificate, Aadhaar card and other applicable documents.
- Reach the examination venue at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
- Note that late entry will not be permitted.
Biometric attendance, digital photograph, signature and thumb impressions may be taken during the recruitment process. Biometric verification will be conducted at all stages.

Female candidates do not have a chest measurement requirement. Candidates claiming height or chest relaxation must produce the required certificate from the competent authority.
Exam Pattern
Head Constable (Laboratory Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant)
The written examination will be a computer-based test of 3 hours, consisting of 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions for 150 marks.

The technical subject may be attempted in English or Hindi as per the selected examination medium. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for an incorrect answer, while unanswered questions will receive zero marks.
Constable (Nursing Assistant cum Medic)
The written examination/Common Entrance Test will be of 2 hours, consisting of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. The subjects are General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning and General English/General Hindi. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for an incorrect answer, and unanswered questions will receive zero marks.
Final Selection
Candidates qualifying in the written examination will be shortlisted category-wise up to three times the number of vacancies for document verification and medical examination. The final merit list will be prepared category-wise on the basis of written examination marks after completion of the medical examination process.
For Head Constable posts, a candidate securing higher marks in the technical subject will rank higher in case of a tie. If the tie continues, the older candidate will be ranked higher. If the tie still persists, merit will be decided by the alphabetical order of the candidate's name in English.
There will be no reserve or waiting merit list. Merely qualifying in the prescribed tests or being declared medically fit does not confer a right to final appointment.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Only online applications are accepted; applications submitted through any other mode will be rejected.
- Candidates must carry original documents and self-attested photocopies during documentation.
- Category certificates must be produced in the prescribed format at the time of documentation.
- OBC candidates must possess a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the prescribed format.
- EWS candidates must submit an Income and Asset Certificate valid for 2026–2027.
- Incomplete applications, blurred photographs, incorrect details or invalid documents may result in rejection.
- Candidates must regularly check the SSB recruitment websites for admit card release, examination schedules and further updates.
- No travel allowance or daily allowance will ordinarily be paid for appearing in the recruitment tests. Eligible unemployed SC/ST candidates may claim admissible fare subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.
- Calculator, mobile phone, digital diary, pager, whitener and blade are prohibited at the recruitment venue.
- Impersonation, forged documents, canvassing or suppression of facts may lead to cancellation, legal action and debarment from future SSB recruitment.
