Opening Overview
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the recruitment notice for Phase-XIV/2026/Selection Posts for various posts under different Central Government departments. The Computer Based Examination is tentatively scheduled for June 2026, and the Admission Certificate will be made available online on the SSC website before the examination.

The examination fee was payable online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay Credit Card, or RuPay Debit Card. The fee was required to be paid separately for each post category. The fee paid for a cancelled post will not be refunded or adjusted.
Age Limit
The age limit varies according to the post category and is calculated as on 01/01/2026. The advertised age groups include 18-25 years, 18-27 years, 18-28 years, 18-30 years, 18-35 years, 20-25 years, 20-30 years, 21-27 years, 21-28 years, 22-28 years, and 23-28 years.
Age relaxation is available as follows:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
- PwBD candidates belonging to OBC: 13 years
- PwBD candidates belonging to SC/ST: 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service from actual age
- Eligible defence personnel disabled during hostilities: 3 years
- Eligible SC/ST defence personnel disabled during hostilities: 8 years
- Central Government Civilian Employees with at least 3 years of regular continuous service: up to 40 years for Group C posts
- SC/ST Central Government Civilian Employees with the required service: up to 45 years
- Widows, divorced women, or judicially separated women who have not remarried: up to 35 years
- SC/ST widows, divorced women, or judicially separated women who have not remarried: up to 40 years
The Date of Birth recorded in the Matriculation or Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted for age determination.
Vacancy Details

The reservation-related figures shown in the notice include 101 ESM, 40 OH, 40 HH, 24 VH, and 15 Others vacancies. Vacancies may be changed, withdrawn, merged, or cancelled by the Commission or the concerned User Department.
Posts include Stenographer, Laboratory Attendant, Junior Engineer, Scientific Assistant, Research Assistant, Library and Information Assistant, Accountant, Store Attendant, Field Assistant, Pharmacist, Medical Attendant, Nursing Officer, Vocational Instructor, Multi-Tasking Staff, Junior Technical Assistant, Driver, LDC, Surveyor, Language Instructor, and several other departmental posts.
Eligibility and Qualification
The required qualification depends on the individual post category mentioned in the SSC post details. The advertised examination levels are:
- Matriculation Level: Candidates with the required 10th-pass qualification.
- Higher Secondary Level: Candidates with the required 10+2 qualification, along with prescribed technical, trade, driving, language, or other requirements wherever applicable.
- Graduation and Above Level: Candidates holding the prescribed graduation, postgraduate, professional, technical, subject-specific, or equivalent qualification.
Post-specific Essential Qualification, experience, skill test, job requirements, age limit, and PwBD suitability must be checked using the post code and regional office details on the SSC portal. Essential Qualification and experience must be possessed by the closing date, 04/05/2026. Experience, wherever prescribed, must generally have been acquired after obtaining the required educational qualification.
Admit Card Details
The SSC Admission Certificate for the Computer Based Examination will be issued through the SSC website. Candidates should regularly check the SSC headquarters and concerned regional office websites. The Commission will not send the Admission Certificate by post or email.
The examination timetable and city or centre details are expected to be uploaded approximately 10 days before the examination. The facility to download the Admission Certificate is expected to be available approximately 2-3 days before the Computer Based Examination.
Candidates should download and print the Admission Certificate and carry it to the examination venue. Candidates who have not completed Aadhaar-Based Authentication must report at the examination centre two hours before the scheduled examination time and carry:
- Printed Admission Certificate
- At least two recent passport-size colour photographs
- Original valid photo identity proof showing the full Date of Birth as printed on the Admission Certificate
Accepted identity documents include Aadhaar Card or e-Aadhaar, Voter ID Card, Driving Licence, PAN Card, Passport, School, College or University ID Card, Employer ID Card, Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book, or another valid photo identity card issued by the Central or State Government.
If the photo identity card does not show the Date of Birth, candidates must carry an additional original document such as the Matriculation Certificate, eligible marksheet, Birth Certificate, or Category Certificate. A mismatch between the Date of Birth on the Admission Certificate and the identity document may result in denial of entry. This additional requirement does not apply to candidates who have completed Aadhaar-Based Authentication.
PwD or PwBD candidates using a scribe must also carry the applicable medical certificate, undertaking, photocopy of the scribe's identity proof, and scribe entry pass wherever prescribed.
Exam Pattern
There will be separate Computer Based Examinations for posts requiring Matriculation, Higher Secondary, and Graduation or higher qualification.

The examination duration is 60 minutes, with a sectional timer of 15 minutes for each part. Candidates eligible for a scribe will receive 80 minutes, with a sectional timer of 20 minutes for each part. There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. The examination will be conducted in Hindi and English, and candidates must select their examination medium while filling the application form.
Selection Process

The minimum qualifying standards for shortlisting are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS, and 20% for other categories. Skill tests, wherever prescribed, are generally qualifying in nature unless otherwise specified for a particular post.
Candidates selected for appointment may be required to serve anywhere in India because all posts carry All India Service Liability. The concerned User Department may allot a State, Union Territory, or zone and may require proficiency in the local language.
Instructions for Downloading the Admission Certificate
Candidates should visit ssc.gov.in or the relevant SSC Regional Office website, open the Admission Certificate or Hall Ticket section, select Phase-XIV/2026/Selection Posts Examination, and log in using the required registration number, roll number, date of birth, or password. After the admit card is displayed, candidates should download it, verify their name, photograph, examination level, date, time, centre, and reporting instructions, and take a clear printout.
The candidature remains provisional until scrutiny and verification of original documents. Any incorrect information, invalid certificate, incomplete application, non-payment of applicable fee, blurred signature, unacceptable photograph, or failure to upload documents when required may lead to cancellation of candidature.
