Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for Rajasthan SET-2026.

Eligibility / Qualification

  • General, Unreserved and General-EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks, without rounding off, in a Master's Degree or equivalent examination from a university or institution recognized by the UGC.
  • OBC belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer, SC, ST, PwD and Third Gender candidates must have secured at least 50% marks, without rounding off, in a Master's Degree or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates who are pursuing their Master's Degree or equivalent course may also apply.
  • Candidates who have appeared in the final-year examination of their qualifying Master's Degree and whose result is awaited may apply provisionally.
  • Candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply provisionally.
  • Provisional candidates must complete their Master's Degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of the SET result, with the required percentage of marks. Failure to meet this condition will result in disqualification.
  • Third Gender candidates are eligible for the same fee and eligibility relaxation available to SC, ST and PwD candidates. Their subject-wise qualifying cut-off will be the lowest applicable cut-off among SC, ST, PwD, OBC-NCL and General-EWS categories in the concerned subject.
  • Candidates are required to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. If the post-graduation subject is not included in the SET subject list, candidates may appear in UGC NET or UGC-CSIR NET.
  • Candidates with a Master's Degree in Geography, with specialization in Population Studies, are also eligible to appear for the Population Studies subject.

Admit Card Details

The examination admit card is to be downloaded through the official University of Kota website or the designated SET-2026 portal when released. Candidates should regularly check the official website for the admit card release notice, examination centre details and instructions.

Candidates should carry the admit card and a valid photo identity document to the examination centre. They should carefully verify their name, subject, examination date, reporting time and centre address after downloading the admit card.

Examination Pattern

The Rajasthan SET-2026 examination will consist of two papers, Paper I and Paper II. Both papers will contain objective-type multiple-choice questions. There will be no break between the two papers.

Marking Scheme

  • Each question carries 2 marks.
  • Each correct answer awards 2 marks.
  • There is no negative marking for an incorrect answer.
  • No marks are awarded for unanswered or unattempted questions.
  • If a question is found to be incorrect, ambiguous or to have multiple correct answers, credit will be given only to candidates who attempted the question and selected one of the correct answers.
  • If a question is dropped for any reason, 2 marks will be awarded to all candidates who appeared in that paper or examination.

Medium of Question Paper

  • The question paper will be available in English and Hindi.
  • The language paper will be provided only in the concerned language.
  • In case of any ambiguity in the translation or construction of a question, the English version will be treated as final. The decision of the University of Kota will be final in this regard.

Syllabus Details

The syllabus may be downloaded from the UGC website, CSIR website or University of Kota website. The eligibility conditions, syllabus, qualifications and other instructions for SET-2026 will be in accordance with the National Eligibility Test requirements prescribed by the UGC, New Delhi.

Certificate Validity

The SET certificate is valid only for the concerned state. The validity of the certificate is permanent. Recruitment to Lecturer or Assistant Professor posts may be conducted from among SET-qualified candidates by universities, colleges or recruitment agencies according to their prescribed procedures, rules and regulations.
