Legal Metrology (Indian Standard Time) Rules, 2026 Notified
The Department of Consumer Affairs has notified the Legal Metrology (Indian Standard Time) Rules, 2026, to establish Indian Standard Time (IST) as a common, legally recognised and traceable time reference across India. The framework supports synchronisation of critical digital infrastructure, cybersecurity systems and national timing services.
