Eligibility / Qualification
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in Science OR Bachelor (Fire Engineering) OR Engineering Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Automobile subject.
- Must have passed Divisional Officer Course from the National Fire College, Nagpur, OR completed prescribed training for the Senior Supervisory Officer of minimum 3 months from other institutions recognized by the Central Government.
Experience Requirement:
- Must have minimum 12 years work experience in the fire fighting area.
- Out of the above, minimum 2 years experience should be on a Senior Supervisory Officer or equivalent post.
Experience Notes (as per notification):
- Experience will be counted based on the prescribed pay level/equivalent posts mentioned in the advertisement.
- Relevant experience certificate issued by the controlling/appointing authority of the concerned department/agency will be valid.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on evaluation of a total of 100 marks, as per the following:
- Academic Qualification – 50 marks
- Work Experience – 20 marks
- Interview – 30 marks

Important Notes on Marks:
- If Division/Class is not mentioned in the marksheet/certificate, the candidate must obtain a certificate from the concerned institution/university regarding division/class.
- If the university provides CGPA, it will be converted to percentage/marks as per the university’s prescribed rules for the relevant session/year.
- For work experience beyond 12 years, a maximum of 2 additional marks per year will be given, subject to a maximum of 20 marks.
- Interview will be conducted by the Commission; the number of candidates called for interview will be decided by the Commission based on the available data/criteria.
Salary / Pay Scale
- Pay Level: Level-11 (as mentioned in the notification)
- Other allowances will be applicable as per Government of Bihar rules.
