CGSSB Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test SET26 - Assistant Professor Eligibility Examination

The examination fee must be paid online while submitting the application. As per the Chhattisgarh Government rules, the examination fee paid by eligible Chhattisgarh domicile candidates who appear in the examination will be refunded to the same bank account from which the payment was made, after declaration of the examination result.

An online objection against the answer key requires payment of ₹50 per question. Objections submitted without payment will not be accepted.

Eligibility / Qualification

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed by the concerned department for the Assistant Professor eligibility examination. Merely filling the online application form or appearing in the examination does not make a candidate eligible.

Candidates are required to verify the information saved in their profile registration before submitting the application. Details such as caste, date of birth, domicile, educational qualification, disability status and other relevant information will be taken from the profile registration and application form.

The examination is scheduled to be conducted at district headquarters in 10 districts of Chhattisgarh. The examination centres listed in the notification are located in Surguja (Ambikapur), Koriya (Baikunthpur), Bilaspur, Dhamtari, Durg, Jagdalpur (Bastar), Kanker, Raigarh, Raipur and Rajnandgaon.

Exam Pattern

The SET26 examination will consist of two question papers. Both papers will contain objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Paper I is common and is intended to assess candidates' reading, teaching and research aptitude, logical ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, general awareness and related capabilities. Each question carries 2 marks.

Paper II will be based on the complete syllabus of the subject selected by the candidate. Each question carries 2 marks.

There is no negative marking in either Paper I or Paper II.

Syllabus Details

The subject-wise syllabus prescribed by the concerned department will be available through the Syllabus link on the CGSSB website.

Qualification Criteria

The result will be prepared on the basis of the applicable departmental rules. Among candidates appearing in both Paper I and Paper II:

  • The top 6% of appearing candidates will be declared qualified, subject to the minimum aggregate marks.
  • Candidates belonging to the General Category must secure at least 40% aggregate marks in both papers taken together.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories, including SC, ST, OBC belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer, PwD and Transgender categories, must secure at least 35% aggregate marks in both papers taken together.
  • Qualification will be determined according to the reservation policy of the State Government.
  • The prescribed qualifying criteria are final and binding.

Admit Card and Examination Instructions

The admit card is expected to be uploaded on the CGSSB website approximately 7 days before the examination. Candidates can download it by logging in to their profile. Admit cards will not be sent by post.

Candidates should follow these instructions:

  • Download the complete admit card and carry its printout to the examination centre.
  • Print every page on one side only, as one copy of the admit card will be collected at the examination centre.
  • Carry one original photo identity document, such as a Voter ID, Driving Licence, PAN Card or Aadhaar Card. Entry will not be permitted without an original photo identity document.
  • Report at the examination centre at least 2 hours before the commencement of the relevant paper for verification and frisking.
  • The examination centre gate will close 30 minutes before the examination begins. For Paper I, candidates should report by 9:30 AM; for Paper II, candidates should report by 1:30 PM.
  • Wear light-coloured, half-sleeved clothing. Black, dark blue, dark green, jamun, maroon, magenta and dark chocolate-coloured clothing is prohibited.
  • Slippers may be worn as footwear. Jewellery in the ears is prohibited.
  • Communication devices, electronic devices, electronic watches, purses, pouches, scarves, belts, caps and similar articles are not permitted inside the examination room.
  • Candidates are not permitted to leave the examination room during the first half-hour and the last half-hour of the examination.
  • Candidates wearing religious or cultural attire must report earlier than usual and may be required to undergo additional security checks.
  • Violation of examination instructions may result in denial of entry, strict action and cancellation of candidature.

Examination Centre Materials

Candidates may carry only the following items into the examination room:

  • Admit card
  • Black or blue ball-point pen
  • Original photo identity document

Answer Key and Objections

Candidates may submit objections against the model answer through the CGSSB website within the prescribed period. Login will require the candidate's profile ID and date of birth. Objections must be submitted separately for each question and supported with valid documentary evidence.

Objections sent by post, email or submitted physically at the CGSSB office will not be accepted. The final answer key will be prepared after review by subject experts, and no further objection will be accepted against the final answer key. Answer sheets will be evaluated on the basis of the final answer key.

If a question is found to be defective, has no correct option, contains a Hindi-English translation discrepancy or has a printing error, the marks allotted to that question will be awarded equally to all candidates as bonus marks. Where more than one option is found correct, all correct options will be treated as valid according to the decision of subject experts.

Result Details

The examination result will be declared according to the applicable departmental rules. Candidates can check their result on https://cgssb.cgstate.gov.in and obtain a printout. CGSSB's responsibility is limited to conducting the examination and declaring the result; document verification, selection and appointment are not conducted by CGSSB.

There is no provision for re-counting or re-evaluation because the answer sheets are evaluated through an OMR machine.

Profile and Application Instructions

Candidates must carefully verify their profile registration information before submitting the online application. After successful payment of the examination fee, they must press the Submit button and retain a printout of the successfully submitted application form.

A correction period of three days after the application deadline is provided for correcting errors. Candidates must make corrections themselves within the prescribed period. The candidate is solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information submitted.

For profile registration, the candidate's recent photograph and signature should be scanned in JPG or JPEG format. Each file should have a minimum size of 50 KB and a maximum size of 100 KB. File names should be alphanumeric and should not contain spaces or dots.
