IBPS has announced CRP RRBs XV for recruitment to Office Assistants and Officers Scale I, II and III in Regional Rural Banks. Eligible graduates and specialist candidates can apply online from 01/09/2026 to 21/09/2026.

Opening Overview

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification for Common Recruitment Process for RRBs XV (CRP RRBs XV) for recruitment to Group A Officers and Group B Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in participating Regional Rural Banks across India. Online registration will be conducted from 01/09/2026 to 21/09/2026. The vacancies are indicative and may change according to the actual vacancies reported by the participating RRBs.

Candidates may apply for Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and one post in the Officers cadre, namely Officer Scale I, Officer Scale II or Officer Scale III. Separate applications and fees are required for each post.

The maximum age limits apply to General and EWS candidates. Age relaxation is available as follows:

  • SC / ST: 5 years
  • OBC Non-Creamy Layer: 3 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen for Office Assistants: Actual defence service period plus 3 years, subject to a maximum age of 50 years. Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST may receive actual service period plus 8 years, subject to the maximum age of 50 years.
  • Eligible Ex-Servicemen commissioned officers, including ECOs and SSCOs, applying for Officers posts: 5 years
  • Widows, divorced women and legally separated women who have not remarried, for Office Assistants only: up to 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST.

SC/ST/OBC relaxation may be combined with only one other applicable relaxation category as permitted under the notification.

The participating RRBs cover 28 States and Union Territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

For Office Assistants and Officer Scale I, provisional allotment is restricted to the RRBs of the State/Union Territory selected by the candidate. For Officer Scale II and Officer Scale III, allotment is made on a merit-cum-preference basis.

All qualifications must be obtained from a recognized university, institution or regulatory-approved body. The result must have been declared on or before 21/09/2026.

For Officer Scale I and Office Assistants, local language proficiency is essential. Candidates who studied the concerned State language in Standard VIII or above from a recognized board, or possess a relevant certificate, will be considered proficient. Candidates who do not meet this requirement at the time of selection may be allowed six months from joining to acquire the required proficiency, subject to the applicable probation rules.

Where CGPA or OGPA is awarded, it must be converted into percentage according to the university’s prescribed conversion formula. Fractions of percentage are ignored; for example, 59.99% is treated as less than 60%.

Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who entered India before 01/01/1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates in the specified categories must possess an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

Selection Process

  1. Office Assistants (Multipurpose): Online Preliminary Examination followed by Online Main Examination and provisional allotment based on Main Examination marks and actual vacancies.
  2. Officer Scale I: Online Preliminary Examination, Online Main Examination, Common Interview and provisional allotment.
  3. Officer Scale II: Single Online Examination, Common Interview and provisional allotment.
  4. Officer Scale III: Single Online Examination, Common Interview and provisional allotment.

For the Officers cadre, the interview carries 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General candidates and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. The relative weightage of the Online Examination and Interview is 80:20.

Candidates must qualify in the applicable examination and interview and secure a sufficiently high merit position. Provisional allotment is subject to document verification, identity verification, medical fitness and fulfilment of the requirements of the allotted RRB.

There is a penalty for wrong answers in all Preliminary, Main and Single Level Objective Examinations. One-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty will be imposed for unanswered questions.

Reservation and Special Provisions

Reservation is available to eligible SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS and PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules and the actual vacancies reported by the RRBs. Benchmark disability generally means a specified disability of not less than 40%, certified by the competent authority.

PwBD candidates may be required to undergo verification of disability certificates or UDID cards and may also be subject to medical assessment by a bank-appointed medical board. Candidates using a scribe must arrange their own scribe at their own cost and indicate the requirement during online registration. The scribe’s qualification should generally be one level below that of the candidate. Eligible candidates receive compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour, subject to registration and applicable guidelines.

The EWS certificate must be valid for the year 2026-2027 for the financial year 2025-2026. The family’s gross annual income must be below ₹8,00,000, and the family must not possess the specified agricultural land, residential flat or residential plot holdings mentioned in the notification.

The OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be issued on or after 01/04/2026 and must contain the required Non-Creamy Layer clause. Candidates belonging to the OBC Creamy Layer must apply as General candidates.

Examination and Identity Instructions

Candidates must carry the call letter, an original valid photo identity proof and a photocopy of the identity proof bearing exactly the same name as shown on the call letter. Accepted identity proofs include PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving Licence, Voter ID, bank passbook with photograph, Aadhaar or E-Aadhaar with photograph, employee ID and other identity documents permitted in the notification. Ration Card and Learner’s Driving Licence will not be accepted.

For the Preliminary Examination, candidates must retain the authenticated or stamped call letter and identity proof copy for the Main Examination. Candidates must also carry one additional photograph matching the photograph pasted on the call letter. Mobile phones, calculators, watches, electronic devices, stationery, bags, ornaments, metallic items, eatables and other prohibited items are not allowed inside the examination centre.

Document Upload Requirements

Candidates must upload a recent photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, SSC/SSLC/10th certificate and applicable disability or scribe certificates.

  • Photograph: Preferred dimensions 200 × 230 pixels; file size 20 KB to 50 KB.
  • Signature: Preferred dimensions 140 × 60 pixels; file size 10 KB to 20 KB; signature must not be in capital letters.
  • Left thumb impression: JPG/JPEG format, preferred dimensions 240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI; file size 20 KB to 50 KB.
  • Handwritten declaration: English only, written by the candidate in black ink; preferred dimensions 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI; file size 50 KB to 100 KB.
  • Certificates: PDF format, A4 page size and file size not exceeding 500 KB.

The handwritten declaration must contain: “I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will submit the supporting documents as and when required.”

Provisional Allotment

Provisional allotment will be made on the basis of merit-cum-preference, reservation guidelines, administrative requirements and actual vacancies reported by the participating RRBs. Indicative vacancies must not be treated as final vacancies. Once allotment is made, requests for change or re-allotment will not be accepted.

Appointment, joining, medical fitness, service conditions and final document verification will be decided by the allotted Regional Rural Bank. Provisional allotment does not by itself constitute an offer of employment.

Important Notes

  • A candidate may apply for Office Assistants and one post in the Officers cadre, but cannot apply for more than one Officers post.
  • Multiple applications for the same cadre may result in retention of only the latest valid application and forfeiture of fees paid for other applications.
  • Applications cannot be withdrawn and fees once paid will not be refunded.
  • Incorrect information, false documents, impersonation, unfair means, multiple registration or misconduct may result in cancellation, debarment, criminal prosecution and termination of service after appointment.
