Opening Overview

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the CRP SPL-XVI notification for recruitment of Specialist Officers (Scale I) in participating Public Sector Banks for vacancies of 2027-28. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for 745 indicative posts across multiple SO disciplines. Last date to apply online is 21/07/2026.

Age Limit

• Age as on: 01/07/2026
• Minimum Age: 20 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years
• Date of Birth: Candidate must be born not earlier than 02/07/1996 and not later than 01/07/2006 (both dates inclusive).

Age Relaxation (Upper Age Limit):

• SC / ST: 5 Years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
• Persons with Benchmark Disability (RPwD Act 2016): 10 Years
• Ex-Servicemen / Commissioned Officers (ECOs/SSCOs) with at least 5 years service: 5 Years (as per Govt guidelines)

• (b) Post Graduate Degree in Electronics / Electronics & Tele Communication / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation / Computer Science / IT / Computer Applications OR
• Graduate with DOEACC ‘B’ level

Post Code 02: Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I)

• Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B) and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council

Post Code 05: HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I)

• Graduate and 2 Years Full Time Post Graduate Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations / HR / HRD / Social Work / Labour Law

Post Code 06: Marketing Officer (Scale I)

• Graduate and 2 Years Full Time MMS (Marketing) / MBA (Marketing) / PGDBA / PGDBM / PGPM / PGDM with specialization in Marketing

Additional Note (Computer Knowledge):

• For posts other than IT Officer Scale I, candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/language or should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in school/college/institute.

• Candidates can apply for only one post. Multiple applications will be rejected.
• No equivalent qualification will be considered.

Selection Process

1. Online Preliminary Examination
2. Online Main Examination
3. Interview (Common interview conducted by participating banks, coordinated by Nodal Bank)
4. Provisional Allotment (Merit-cum-preference based on actual vacancies)

Final merit is prepared using:

• Main Exam + Interview with weightage 80:20.

Important Notes:

• In Main Exam, all tests except Professional Knowledge are qualifying in nature; merit listing is based on Professional Knowledge.
• Negative Marking (Objective Tests): 1/4 (0.25) marks deducted for each wrong answer; no penalty for unanswered questions.
