Eligibility / Qualification
Marital Status
- Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
- Candidates must undertake not to marry during the 4-year engagement period.
- Female candidates must also undertake not to get pregnant during the 4-year engagement period; pregnancy during engagement can lead to dismissal and will debar selection into regular cadre.
Educational Qualification
(A) Science Subjects
Candidates must meet any one of the following:
- 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and English from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
- 3 Years Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a recognized Polytechnic with minimum 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Diploma).
OR
- 2 Years Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
(B) Other than Science Subjects
Candidates must meet any one of the following:
- 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent in any stream from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
- 2 Years Vocational Course from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
Important Note (Marks): Exact aggregate percentage before decimal as written in marksheet / calculated as per board rules will be considered (example: 49.99% will be treated as 49%, not rounded to 50%).

Salary / Pay Scale
Agniveervayu will be paid an Agniveer package with yearly increment. In addition, Risk & Hardship Allowance (as applicable), Dress and Travel Allowances will be paid. Other benefits include ration, clothing, accommodation and LTC as per rules.

Important Instructions (Candidate Must Note)
- Admit card for Phase-I will be sent on registered email 48-72 hours before exam and can also be downloaded from candidate login.
- Candidates must carry original Aadhaar card for Phase-I & Phase-II (candidates from J&K, Ladakh, Assam, Meghalaya exempted if not having Aadhaar; they must carry other valid ID proof).
- Mobile phones / smart watches / electronic devices are prohibited in testing areas during Phase-I and Phase-II; violation can lead to permanent debarment.
- Permanent tattoos are not permitted except as allowed (inner forearm, dorsal hand/reverse palm; tribal custom tattoos as per rules). Offensive/obscene/indecent/sexist/racist tattoos are prohibited.
- Candidates with history of LASIK/PRK are not accepted.
- Agniveervayu is not entitled to Ex-Servicemen (ESM) status after discharge on completion of 4 years.
- State-wise PSL is expected in the last week of May 2027 and Enrolment List will be published after 01/06/2027.
