Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has invited online applications for Apprentices engagement under Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026-27. A total of 750 State/UT-wise seats are available for graduates. Apply online from 07/07/2026 to 20/07/2026; online exam is tentatively on 02/08/2026.

  • Additional Condition: Candidates registered under NAPS should be less than 34 years as on 01/07/2026.

Eligibility / Qualification

  • Candidate must be a Citizen of India.
  • Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a university recognized by Government of India (or equivalent qualification recognized by Central Government).
  • Graduation result must be declared on or before 31/07/2026.
  • For candidates registered under NATS: Graduation result must be declared between 01/03/2022 and 31/07/2026 (both inclusive) and candidate must produce mark sheets and provisional/degree certificate when required.
  • Candidate must be proficient in local language of the State/UT applied for (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
  • Candidate can apply for engagement from only ONE State/UT (preferably home State/UT).
  • Not Eligible:
    • Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship with IOB or any other organization, or are currently pursuing apprenticeship under Apprentices Act, 1961.
    • Candidates having training or job experience of 1 year or more after completing graduation.
    • Ex-servicemen / Disabled ex-servicemen (no reservation and not to be engaged as apprentice).

Selection Process

  1. Online Examination (Objective Type)
  2. Test of Local Language (where applicable; conducted during document verification)
  3. Personal Interaction (if any, as decided by the Bank)
  4. Document Verification
  5. Medical Fitness and verification of character/antecedents/caste validity (where applicable)

Merit: Selection will be based on merit subject to reservation rules. In case of tie at cutoff marks, older candidate (by age) will be ranked higher.

  • Exam Duration: 90 minutes
  • Minimum qualifying marks: Aggregate minimum as decided by the Bank (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD get 5% relaxation in aggregate minimum). No sectional minimum.
  • Exam will be conducted online with front camera enabled device (desktop/laptop/tablet/smartphone) as per BFSI SSC instructions.
