The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), through the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB), has invited online applications for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ posts in Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Civil, Electrical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, and Architecture disciplines. A total of 92 tentative vacancies are available in ISRO Centres/Units and autonomous bodies under the Department of Space. The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online through the Bharatkosh portal using Internet Banking, UPI, domestic debit card, or domestic credit card. Payment through cash, cheque, draft, money order, IPO, or any other mode is not accepted. Bank charges and applicable taxes may be extra. Candidates can check payment status and print the receipt after 24 hours of successful payment.
Age Limit
- The maximum age is 28 years as on 17/08/2026.
- UR/EWS candidates must have been born on or after 18/08/1998.
- OBC candidates must have been born on or after 18/08/1995.
- SC/ST candidates must have been born on or after 18/08/1993.
- Serving Government employees, PwBD, SC/ST, and OBC candidates are eligible for age relaxation as per applicable Government of India rules, wherever posts are reserved.

Tentative posting locations include Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Sriharikota, Thiruvananthapuram, Mahendragiri, Valiamala, Hassan, and other ISRO Centres/Units. The Civil autonomous body post is for PRL, Ahmedabad.
Eligibility / Qualification
All candidates must have completed graduation within the stipulated duration of the course prescribed by the university. The qualifying degree must carry an aggregate minimum of 65% marks, calculated as the average of all semesters, or CGPA 6.84 on a 10-point scale.

A valid GATE 2025 or GATE 2026 score in the relevant paper is mandatory for screening. Candidates must enter their GATE score, and not GATE marks or GATE rank, in the online application. ISRO/ICRB will verify the entered score.
Where both CGPA and percentage are shown in the degree certificate or consolidated mark sheet, at least one criterion must meet the ISRO eligibility requirement. If only CGPA is shown, conversion of CGPA into percentage is not permitted for determining eligibility. For dual or integrated degree programmes, the graduation-level CGPA or percentage, or the final cumulative CGPA or percentage applicable to the complete programme, will be considered as prescribed in the notification.
Candidates applying under OBC reservation must possess a valid Government of India OBC–Non-Creamy Layer certificate as on 17/08/2026. EWS candidates must possess a valid Income and Asset Certificate for the financial year 2026–2027.
PwBD candidates applying for reserved posts must submit a self-attested disability certificate in the prescribed format at the time of interview. Reservation is available only to persons having at least 40% relevant disability, as per applicable rules.
Selection Process
- Screening and shortlisting based on valid GATE 2025 or GATE 2026 scores.
- Candidates will generally be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:7 based on GATE Score, not GATE marks or GATE rank.
- Interview assessment carrying 100 marks:
- Technical or academic knowledge: 40 marks
- General awareness related to the technical specialisation: 20 marks
- Presentation and communication skills: 20 marks
- Comprehension: 10 marks
- Academic achievements: 10 marks
- Final selection will be based on 50% weightage for GATE Score and 50% weightage for Interview marks.

Academic achievement marks may include credit for studying at IITs, IISc, IIST, NITs, or institutes in the NIRF top 20 ranking; academic performance; and institute-awarded rank from 1 to 3. ISRO reserves the right to revise the qualifying criteria for interview and final selection due to administrative reasons.
Documents and Upload Requirements
Candidates must upload clear documents through the online portal. The photograph and signature must be uploaded in JPG format, while the GATE Score Card must be uploaded in PDF format. Original documents relating to qualification, age, category, GATE score, and employer NOC must be produced when required.
- Photograph: recent passport-size colour photograph, preferably with a white or light-coloured background.
- Photograph preferred dimensions: 200 × 230 pixels; file size not exceeding 50 KB.
- Signature: made with black ink on white paper and not in capital letters.
- Signature preferred dimensions: 140 × 60 pixels; file size not exceeding 50 KB.
- Caps, hats, dark glasses, blurred photographs, unclear images, and photographs with unsuitable backgrounds are not acceptable.
Salary / Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix with a minimum basic pay of ₹56,100 per month. The following benefits are admissible as per applicable Central Government rules:

Additional Conditions
- Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
- Appointees may be posted or transferred to any ISRO Centre/Unit or Department of Space unit as per organisational requirements.
- Candidates employed under Central or State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, or autonomous bodies must produce an original No Objection Certificate at the time of interview or whenever required. Failure to produce the NOC may lead to disqualification and non-payment of travelling allowance.
- Interview candidates will be reimbursed to-and-fro second-class or sleeper-class train fare by the shortest route from the city mentioned in the online application to the interview venue.
