JSSC has released the JILCCE-2026 notification for 326 Intermediate-level regular vacancies in Jharkhand Government departments. Eligible 10+2 candidates can apply online from 20/07/2026 to 19/08/2026.

The examination fee is non-refundable. Candidates claiming the concessional fee under the Jharkhand SC/ST category must satisfy the prescribed Jharkhand domicile and certificate requirements. Applications without the required fee payment may be rejected.

Age Limit

The minimum age limit is 18 years. The maximum age limit varies by category and is calculated with reference to the prescribed post-wise date.

Additional age relaxation includes 10 years for eligible persons with benchmark disabilities and 5 years for ex-servicemen. Only one of the applicable additional relaxations may be claimed. Disability benefits are available only where the disability is at least 40% and supported by the prescribed certificate issued by the competent medical authority.

Candidates may give preferences for more than one post where they possess more than one eligible educational qualification. Post preference will be available in the online application.

Candidates claiming reservation must possess valid Jharkhand domicile, caste, EWS, non-creamy layer, disability or other prescribed certificates in the notified formats. Certificates issued by an unauthorised officer or in a format different from the prescribed format may not be accepted.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination, if conducted.
  2. Main Examination.
  3. Preparation of common merit list and category-wise selection list.
  4. Verification of original educational, domicile, caste, EWS, disability and other certificates.
  5. Counselling and recommendation for appointment.
  6. Appointment subject to fulfilment of character, antecedent and other government service requirements.

The Commission may decide not to conduct the Preliminary Examination if fewer than 50,000 applications are received. In appropriate circumstances, the Commission may also decide to conduct the Main Examination directly.

Exam Pattern

All questions will be objective and multiple-choice type. Each question carries 3 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The examination may be conducted through Computer-Based Test or OMR mode. Normalisation may be applied where the same subject is conducted in multiple shifts or groups. The examination language will be Hindi and English, wherever applicable.

The Preliminary Examination covers general studies, current affairs, India and neighbouring countries, history, culture, geography, environment, economy, Constitution, polity, Panchayati Raj, community development, Five-Year Plans, Jharkhand's geography, history, culture, languages, minerals, industries, development schemes, sports, personalities and achievements. Mathematics is generally of Matriculation or Class 10 level. General Science is based on everyday observations and basic scientific understanding. Mental Ability includes verbal and non-verbal reasoning, analogy, classification, observation, problem-solving, series, memory, spatial visualisation and coding-decoding.

Main Examination

The Main Examination consists of three papers. Each paper is of 2 hours and each question carries 3 marks, with 1 mark negative marking for each incorrect answer.

Paper 1: Language Knowledge

For both Hindi and English, 20 questions are based on passages and 40 questions are based on grammar. Paper 1 is qualifying in nature and requires at least 30% marks. Marks obtained in Paper 1 will not be added to the merit list.

Paper 2: Regional / Tribal Language Knowledge

Candidates may choose one language from Hindi, English, Urdu, Santhali, Bengali, Mundari, Ho, Kharia, Kurukh, Kurmali, Khortha, Nagpuri, Panchpargania, Odia or Sanskrit. The paper contains 100 objective questions in the selected language. The minimum qualifying standard is 30%.

Paper 3 requires a minimum of 30% marks. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Papers 2 and 3, provided the candidate qualifies in Paper 1.

The Main Examination syllabus includes Hindi and English language and literature, selected regional and tribal languages, general studies, Jharkhand-specific knowledge, general science, mathematics, mental ability and basic computer knowledge. Regional language syllabi include grammar, prose, poetry, folk literature, folk songs, stories, essays and literature-related topics prescribed in the notification.

Salary / Pay Scale

The posts carry Pay Band-I of ₹5,200–20,200 with the following grade pay:

  • Health Supervisor: Grade Pay ₹2,400
  • Junior Regional Investigator: Grade Pay ₹2,000
  • Multi-Purpose Health Worker: Grade Pay ₹1,900
  • Veterinary Assistant / Medical Assistant: Grade Pay ₹1,900
  • Insect Collector: Grade Pay ₹1,800
  • Fisheries Technical Assistant: Grade Pay ₹1,800

Other admissible allowances and service benefits will be applicable according to Jharkhand Government rules.

Important Instructions

Candidates must carefully verify their name, father's or husband's name, date of birth, photograph, signature, category, domicile and other details before submitting the application. The spelling of the name and date of birth should match the Matriculation or Class 10 certificate.

The admit card will be uploaded on the JSSC website and will not be sent separately by post. Candidates must download and carry the admit card to the examination centre. Mobile phones, pagers, Bluetooth devices and other electronic gadgets are prohibited inside the examination centre. Original certificates and the application printout, fee payment record and admit card should be preserved for future verification.

The Commission may cancel candidature for failure to meet the age or qualification requirements, incomplete application, non-payment of the prescribed fee, failure to upload photograph or signature, submission of invalid certificates, use of unfair means, impersonation or submission of false information. Candidates with disabilities may request a scribe and additional time subject to the conditions and certificates prescribed in the notification.
