Eligibility / Qualification

Sr. Assistant Officer (HR)

  • Graduate with at least two years of full-time postgraduate degree, postgraduate diploma, postgraduate diploma in management with specialization in Human Resource/Industrial Relations/Personnel Management, or Master’s degree in Social Work/MHROD, or MBA with specialization in HR.
  • The qualification must be from a recognized Indian University/Institution or an institution recognized by the appropriate statutory authority.
  • Minimum 60% marks are required as per the respective university/institute norms.
  • Computer knowledge is essential.
  • A degree in Law is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification in-line experience in an organization of repute, preferably in areas such as establishment matters, policy advocacy, industrial relations, recruitment and promotion, manpower planning, performance appraisal systems, general administration, statutory compliance, HR policies and related matters.

Sr. Assistant Officer (Law)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) or equivalent full-time degree from a recognized Indian University/Institute.
  • Minimum 60% marks are required.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification in-line experience in an organization of repute, dealing with litigation handling, drafting and vetting contracts and legal documents, providing legal opinions, arbitration and dispute resolution, statutory and regulatory compliance, coordination with advocates and regulatory authorities, and legal advice on matters related to power infrastructure, engineering or the manufacturing sector.

Sr. Assistant Engineer (Electrical)

  • B.E./B.Tech. Degree in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering with at least 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification executive experience, including training period, if any, in the power sector such as coal, gas or lignite, in operation, maintenance, commissioning, erection, engineering or a combination of these disciplines in a relevant power plant/power project.

Sr. Assistant Engineer (Mechanical)

  • B.E./B.Tech. Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering with at least 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification executive experience, including training period, if any, in the power sector such as coal, gas or lignite, in operation, maintenance, commissioning, erection, engineering or a combination of these disciplines in a relevant power plant/power project.

Sr. Assistant Engineer (C&I)

  • B.E./B.Tech. Degree in Electronics/Control and Instrumentation/Instrumentation Engineering with at least 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification executive experience, including training period, if any, in the power sector such as coal, gas or lignite, in operation, maintenance, commissioning, erection, engineering or a combination of these disciplines in a relevant power plant/power project.

Sr. Assistant Engineer (IT)

  • B.E./B.Tech. Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science/Electronics and Communication Engineering with at least 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification executive experience, including training period, if any, in an organization of repute, handling and managing IT infrastructure, systems and operations involving network security, software development, database management and communication systems.
  • Certified Network Engineer with CCNA/CCNP or equivalent valid certification is preferable.

All qualifications must be awarded by Universities/Institutions recognized and approved in India. SC/ST/PwBD candidates with passing marks in the qualifying degree are also eligible to apply. Experience in the private sector must be supported by work experience certificates, yearly compensation or pay-related statements, salary slips and Form 16 and Income Tax Return records, wherever applicable.

Selection Process

The selection process may include the following stages:

  1. All India-based Online Selection Test.
  2. Subject Knowledge Test (SKT).
  3. Executive Aptitude Test (EAT).
  4. Shortlisting for Personal Interview based on merit and the requirements of the post.
  5. Personal Interview, wherever applicable.
  6. Document verification and medical examination.

Candidates must qualify separately in both the Subject Knowledge Test and the Executive Aptitude Test. The final selection will be based on 85% weightage of the online selection test and 15% weightage of interview marks. NSPCL may conduct application shortlisting/screening, written or computer-based tests, interviews, or a combination of these stages as required.

Exam Pattern

The Online Selection Test will have two parts:

Candidates are required to qualify in both tests separately. The detailed number of questions, marks, duration and negative-marking provisions are as prescribed by NSPCL for the online selection test.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in E1 grade with an initial basic pay in the pay scale of ₹40,000–1,40,000, under the IDA pattern. Dearness Allowance, other allowances, perquisites, terminal benefits and other benefits will be admissible as per NSPCL rules in force from time to time.

Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates belonging to the General category must execute a service agreement bond of ₹5,00,000 to serve NSPCL for at least four years after joining the company. For candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwBD categories, the bond amount will be ₹2,50,000.

Posting and Other Conditions

  • Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India at any project, station, subsidiary or joint venture company of NSPCL.
  • All posts are transferable at the sole discretion of the management.
  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates can apply for one post only. If multiple applications are submitted, the last application will be considered for further selection.
  • No manual or paper application will be accepted.
  • Candidates must choose two cities as Preference-I and Preference-II for the test centre. Test-centre changes will not ordinarily be permitted.
  • TA/DA will not be paid for appearing in the All India-based Online Selection Test.
  • The admit card containing the roll number, test centre and test guidelines will be made available on the NSPCL website. Admit cards will not be sent by post.
  • Candidates must maintain a valid email ID for at least one year after applying. Future correspondence will be sent through email.
  • Candidates must undergo a medical examination at a notified, empanelled or project hospital before joining. The decision of NSPCL regarding medical fitness will be final.
  • Any addendum, corrigendum or update will be published only on the official website.

Identified PwBD Categories

The notification identifies disability categories eligible for the respective posts, including blindness/low vision, deafness/hard of hearing, locomotor disability, autism, specific learning disability, mental illness and multiple disabilities, subject to the categories specified against each post and applicable Government guidelines.

Important Instructions

Candidates claiming SC, ST, OBC non-creamy layer, EWS, PwBD or Ex-Servicemen benefits must possess valid certificates in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority. The category selected in the online application cannot be changed later. NSPCL reserves the right to cancel, restrict, curtail or increase the number of vacancies without further notice.
