Age Limit

The number of vacancies may be increased or decreased at the discretion of NGEL management. The vacancies have been calculated as per prescribed roster points, including shortfall and backlog vacancies.
Eligibility / Qualification
1. Engineer (RE – Civil)
- Full-time BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engineering) degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 65% marks from a recognized university or institution.
- For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 55%.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification executive experience, including training period if applicable, in geotechnical work, piling, foundation, structural steel, tower structures, switchyard or related areas.
- Renewable Energy experience will be preferred.
The role includes civil system design, preparation of technical specifications, regulatory compliance, contract management, construction, quality assurance, equipment erection, installation, testing, commissioning and operation and maintenance of Renewable Energy projects.
2. Engineer (RE – Electrical)
- Full-time BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engineering) degree in Electrical Engineering or any of the following relevant disciplines: Electrical and Electronics, Electrical Instrumentation and Control, Power Systems and High Voltage, Power Electronics or Power Engineering.
- Minimum 65% marks from a recognized university or institution.
- For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 55%.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification executive experience, including training period if applicable, in switchyard, electrical testing, transmission systems, transformers, design or engineering.
- Renewable Energy experience in plant or engineering domains will be preferred.
3. Engineer (RE – Mechanical)
- Full-time BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engineering) degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering or Power Engineering.
- Minimum 65% marks from a recognized university or institution.
- For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 55%.
- Preference will be given to candidates having an ME/M.Tech degree.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification executive experience, including training period if applicable, involving supervision, execution and related activities in Thermal, Gas, Hydro, Nuclear or Renewable power generation.
- Renewable Energy experience will be preferred.
The work involves mechanical system design and engineering, site selection, preparation of technical specifications and tender documents, tender drawings using AutoCAD, bid evaluation, vendor engineering approval, field inspection, equipment installation, testing, commissioning, project monitoring, statutory clearances and operation and maintenance.
4. Executive (RE – Human Resource)
- Graduate with at least a 2-year full-time Post Graduate Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Post Graduate Programme in Management with specialization in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Personnel Management; or MHROD; or MBA with specialization in HR.
- Minimum 65% marks from a recognized university or institution.
- For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 55%.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification executive experience in HR functions or Industrial Relations.
- Knowledge of SAP, MS Office and Data Analytics will be preferred.
The role covers labour law compliance, recruitment and onboarding, employee benefits and compensation, employee database management, infrastructure development at project sites, accommodation arrangements, CSR activities and land-related matters.
5. Executive (RE – Finance)
- Qualified CA or CMA.
- Minimum 1 year of post-qualification executive experience, excluding the articleship period, in Finance or Accounts.
The responsibilities include vendor invoice processing and payments, GST and TDS compliance, preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements under IndAS and SEBI LODR requirements, statutory and internal audits, costing, budgeting, financial projections, resource mobilization, working capital management and payroll accounting.
6. Engineer (RE – Safety)
- Full-time Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Civil or Power Engineering with at least 65% marks, along with a full-time Diploma in Industrial Safety from a Regional Labour Institute or institution recognized under the Factories Act/Rules; or
- Full-time Engineering Degree in Industrial Safety or Fire and Safety with at least 65% marks from a recognized university or institution under the Factories Act/Rules of any state.
- For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 55%.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification executive experience in safety, preferably in the power or manufacturing industry in a government organization, public sector undertaking or reputed private company.
- Experience will be counted from the date of acquiring the Engineering Degree.
- Renewable Energy experience will be preferred.
7. Executive (RE – CSR)
- Full-time PG Degree, PG Diploma or PG Programme in Rural Management, Rural Development, Displacement, Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Community Development, Local Governance, Local Development, Livelihoods, Social Entrepreneurship, Social Development, Social Administration, Sustainable Development, Development Policy and Practice or Development Studies; or
- MSW, MBA or Engineering Graduation.
- Minimum 65% marks from a recognized university or institution.
- For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 55%.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification executive experience in socio-economic surveys, stakeholder consultation, CSR activities under the Companies Act, need assessment surveys, social impact assessment surveys, or planning and implementation of CSR projects.
8. Executive (RE – Rajbhasha)
A full-time Master’s Degree from a recognized university in any one of the following combinations:
- Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or English as the medium of examination at degree level.
- Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or Hindi as the medium of examination at degree level.
- Master’s Degree in a subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject, or English as the medium of examination at degree level.
- Master’s Degree in a subject other than Hindi or English with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or Hindi as the medium of examination at degree level.
- Master’s Degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects, or one as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.
The candidate must have at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in applying Hindi terminology or translation work from English to Hindi or Hindi to English under the Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, autonomous bodies, statutory organizations, public sector undertakings, universities or recognized research and educational institutions.
Selection Process
NGEL may conduct a multistage selection process to restrict the number of candidates. The process may include:
- Application shortlisting or screening based on qualification, percentage of marks and experience.
- Computer-Based Test, if required.
- Group Discussion, if required.
- Personal Interview.
- Medical examination and declaration of medical fitness.
Management reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards or modify the selection process according to its requirements.
Exam Pattern
If a Computer-Based Test is conducted, it will be bilingual and objective in nature. The test will contain 100 questions and will be completed in 2 hours.

There will be negative marking. One-fourth of the maximum marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer. The CBT may be conducted at Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, Gandhinagar/Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Bhopal and Raipur.
For CBT-based selection, the minimum qualifying marks are as follows:

If no CBT is conducted, shortlisting will be based on age, qualification and experience, followed by an interview. In this method, experience carries 30 marks and interview carries 70 marks, making a total of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for experience for all categories, 55% in the interview for UR candidates and 45% in the interview for reserved category candidates.
Five marks will be awarded for fulfilling the minimum required experience, along with one additional mark for each year of additional experience, up to a maximum of 10 marks. Appointment offers will be issued according to the relative rank in the merit list prepared from the cumulative score.
Salary / Pay Scale
The approximate annual CTC for the advertised posts is ₹11,00,000 per annum. It includes fixed and variable components, HRA, mediclaim coverage for self, spouse, dependent parents and two children, performance-based variable pay and satisfactory service grant. Actual remuneration may vary according to experience, place of posting and other terms and conditions of appointment.
The appointment will initially be for 3 years on a fixed-term basis and may be extended by up to 2 years as per organizational requirements.
PwBD Reservation and Suitable Disabilities
A total of 14 vacancies are reserved for PwBD candidates as per Government guidelines: 7 vacancies for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Safety posts, and 7 vacancies for HR, Finance, CSR and Rajbhasha posts. These vacancies include PwBD backlog vacancies.

- Self-attested copies of certificates relating to age, qualifications and experience, clearly mentioning the area of specialization, job performed and expertise.
- No Objection Certificate from the existing employer for candidates working in Government organizations or Public Sector Undertakings. The NOC must be produced at the time of interview.
