Eligibility / Qualification

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline from a University/Institution recognized/approved by Government of India or its regulatory bodies.
  • Candidate must have valid mark-sheet/degree certificate proving graduation on the date of online registration and must mention percentage of marks in the online form.
  • Educational qualification must be valid as on 09/08/2026 and the result must have been declared on or before 09/08/2026.

Experience (Post Mandatory Educational Qualification)

  • Minimum 1 year post-qualification work experience in Clerical/Officer cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of RBI Act, 1934.
  • Proof of experience must be submitted in the prescribed format (Annexure Experience Certificate) duly certified by employer.
  • Experience in other institutions/roles not matching the job profile of a Scale-I Generalist Officer of PNB may not be considered for advance increment (bank decision final).

Local Language Requirement

  • Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking the specified local language of the state applied for.
  • Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) will be conducted by an external agency.
  • Candidates who studied the specified local language in Class 10th or 12th are exempted from LLPT, subject to document proof.

Nationality / Citizenship

Candidate must be:

  • Citizen of India, OR
  • Subject of Nepal / Bhutan, OR
  • Tibetan refugee (came to India before 01/01/1962 for permanent settlement), OR
  • Person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries for permanent settlement in India,

Subject to Government of India eligibility certificate wherever applicable, and mandatory local language proficiency.

Selection Process

  1. Online Written Test
  2. Screening of application & documents (for written test qualified candidates)
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) (if applicable)
  4. Personal Interview
  5. Final Selection based on Online Test + Interview, subject to qualifying LLPT (where applicable) and document verification.

  • Sectional Qualifying Marks: 40% for General/EWS, 35% for Reserved categories in each section.

Salary / Pay Scale

  • Pay Scale (JMGS-I): ₹48,480-2,000/7-62,480-2,340/2-67,160-2,680/7-85,920
  • In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to DA, CCA, HRA/Leased Accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, Retirement Benefits and other perquisites as per bank rules.

Indemnity Bond (Service Bond)

Selected candidates will have to execute an Indemnity Bond to serve the Bank for at least 3 years or pay ₹2,00,000 if leaving before completion of 3 years of active service.

Other Key Conditions (As per Notification)

  • Candidates will be posted within the selected state until completion of 9 years of service or promotion to SMG Scale IV, whichever is earlier.
  • Prior experience will not be counted for seniority.
  • Candidates earlier separated from PNB/merged entities for reasons other than VRS/Resignation are not eligible.
  • Bank may conduct biometric verification (photo, thumb impression/IRIS scan) at various stages.
  • CIBIL score: Minimum 680 required at the time of joining (not a pre-condition to apply).
