Eligibility / Qualification

Chief Law Assistant

  • Law Degree from a recognized University
  • 3 years standing practice as a Pleader at Bar
  • Serving Railway employees who are Law Graduates are also eligible if they have minimum 5 years service in any branch of Railway Administration (as per notice)

Public Prosecutor

  • Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) from recognized University
  • 5 years standing as an advocate at Bar

Junior Translator (Hindi)

  • Master’s Degree (post-wise combinations as per notice) in Hindi/English/Any subject with Hindi/English as compulsory/elective/medium at Degree level (as specified)
  • Plus either:
    • Diploma/Certificate in translation (Hindi to English and vice-versa), or
    • 2 years translation experience in Central/State Government offices / Government of India Undertaking

Senior Publicity Inspector

  • Degree from recognized University
  • Diploma in Public Relations / Advertising / Journalism / Mass Communication
  • Desirable: 2 years experience in related fields

Staff & Welfare Inspector

  • Graduation plus any one of the following:
    • Diploma in Labour / Social Welfare, or
    • Diploma in Labour Laws, or
    • LLB with papers in Labour Laws, or
    • PG Diploma in Personnel Management, or
    • MBA with papers in Personnel Management, or
    • MBA/HR, or
    • PG Diploma in Human Resource Management (with Personnel Management papers in curriculum)
    • Qualification must be from an institution recognized by Government of India

Scientific Assistant (Training)

  • Second Class Master’s Degree in Psychology
  • 1 year experience in administration of psychological tests
  • Desirable: Knowledge of computers and statistics; specialization in Industrial/Organisational Psychology

Lab Assistant Grade III (Chemist & Metallurgist)

  • 12th (10+2) or equivalent with Science (Physics and Chemistry)

Scientific Supervisor (Ergonomics & Training)

  • Second Class Master’s Degree in Psychology or Physiology
  • 2 years experience in administration of psychological tests of mental abilities and personality, or research in work psychology, or developing training module / conducting training programme
  • Desirable: Specialization in Industrial Psychology / Ergonomics / Counseling with knowledge of statistics and computers

Selection Process

  1. Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Translation Test (TT) (only where applicable, e.g., Junior Translator)
  3. Document Verification (DV)
  4. Medical Examination (ME)

Important points:

  • Negative marking: 1/3rd marks deducted for each wrong answer in CBT.
  • Shortlisting for TT: 10 times vacancies based on CBT merit (as per notice).
  • DV: Candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called based on merit and options.

Junior Translator (Hindi) CBT + Translation Test

  • Single stage CBT followed by qualifying Translation Test
  • At least 50% questions to test language proficiency: 20% English + 30% Hindi
  • Translation Test qualifying marks: 60%
  • Final merit for Junior Translator is based on CBT marks only (TT is qualifying)

As per 7th CPC (Initial Pay):

  • Level 6: ₹35,400
