Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) has released Centralised Employment Notification CEN 03/2026 for recruitment to the post of Section Controller in various Zonal Railways of Indian Railways. PwBD Note (as per notification): PwBD-LD candidates (OA, OL, SD without neurological/limb dysfunction, SI without neurological/limb dysfunction) are eligible for the post, however no PwBD vacancy is notified in this CEN. Such candidates will be considered against their respective community vacancies as per rules and suitability.
Eligibility / Qualification
- Educational Qualification: Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.
- Candidates waiting for final results of the prescribed qualification are not eligible.
- Candidates must fulfill eligibility conditions as on 14/08/2026 (closing date).
Selection Process
- Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination (ME)
Shortlisting Rules:
- CBAT shortlisting: 8 times the vacancies (RRB-wise) based on CBT merit.
- DV shortlisting: 1:1 of vacancies (RRB-wise) based on combined merit.
- Combined Merit Weightage: CBT 70% + CBAT 30% (only for candidates who qualify CBAT).
Exam Pattern
CBT (Single Stage)
- Duration: 120 Minutes
- Total Questions: 100
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer
- Normalization: Applicable if CBT is held in multiple shifts

CBAT
- Shortlisted candidates must produce Vision Certificate (Annexure VI / VI(A) in original) on CBAT day.
- Language: Questions and options in English and Hindi only.
- Qualifying Standard: Minimum T-Score 42 in each test battery (no relaxation for any category).
- Negative Marking: No negative marking.

Medical Standard: A-2 Important Medical Note: Candidates who have undergone LASIK or any corrective eye surgery are not eligible for Section Controller (A-2 standard).
