The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Jaipur has invited online applications for 259 Forester posts in the Rajasthan Forest Department. Eligible candidates who have qualified the CET Senior Secondary Level Examination 2024 and meet the educational, age, and physical standards may apply online from 06/01/2026 to 04/02/2026.

Application Fee
The notification specifies a One Time Registration (OTR) fee. Candidates who have already paid the OTR fee do not need to pay it again.

Payment may be made through an authorised e-Mitra kiosk, Jan Suvidha Centre, Common Service Centre, net banking, debit card, or credit card. Candidates from other states, irrespective of their category, will be treated as General category candidates for this recruitment.
A fee of ₹300 is prescribed for permitted online application corrections. Candidates whose OTR facility is blocked due to absence from prescribed examinations may be required to pay a penalty of ₹750 for the first reactivation and ₹1,500 for subsequent reactivation during the same financial year.
Age Limit
The candidate must have completed 18 years of age and must not have completed 40 years of age as on 01/01/2027.
Due to non-conduct of Forester recruitment during the previous three years, an additional three-year relaxation in the maximum age limit is available to applicants.

The vacancies include category-wise reservation for General, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Most Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section, and applicable horizontal reservations.
Horizontal Reservation
The notification provides horizontal reservation for eligible categories including:
- Persons with Disabilities, including Acid Attack Victims
- Ex-servicemen
- Outstanding sportspersons
- Women, including widows and divorced women
The notification indicates 13 posts for Persons with Disabilities and 4 posts for outstanding sportspersons in the non-scheduled area, along with the prescribed category-wise horizontal reservation in the scheduled area.
Only eligible permanent residents of Rajasthan Scheduled Areas may apply against Scheduled Area vacancies. Candidates applying for Scheduled Area posts must clearly select and mention the Scheduled Area category in the online application.
Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates must fulfil all of the following requirements:
- Must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer, or an examination declared equivalent by the Government.
- Must possess knowledge of working in Hindi written in the Devanagari script.
- Must have knowledge of the culture of Rajasthan.
- Must have qualified the CET Senior Secondary Level Examination 2024, wherever applicable under the recruitment process.
- Candidates appearing in the final year of the prescribed qualification may apply, but they must obtain the required qualification before the Forester examination date.
- Candidates must satisfy the prescribed nationality, character, medical fitness, and physical standards.
Ex-servicemen holding a certificate equivalent to graduation after 15 years of military service may enter the applicable qualification details as permitted in the OTR system and must upload the supporting certificate.
Scheduled Area Eligibility
Scheduled Area vacancies are restricted to eligible local residents of Rajasthan Scheduled Areas. Candidates must follow the latest Government notification defining and re-defining the Scheduled Areas while filling the application.
Sports Quota
Outstanding sportsperson reservation is horizontal and is adjusted within the candidate's applicable category. Applicants must possess a sports certificate issued under the categories and competitions specified in the notification, including recognised Olympic, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cup, World Championship, School Games, national championship, university, or Rajasthan representation categories.
The valid sports certificate must be available by the last date of application. Information regarding sports certificates entered in the online application will be considered for the sports quota.
Persons with Disabilities
Only the disability categories recognised under the applicable Rajasthan disability rules will receive reservation benefits. A valid Permanent Disability Certificate showing 40% or more disability is required for reservation eligibility. Candidates claiming disability benefits must enter their UDID registration/card details in the online application and produce the UDID card during eligibility verification.

The physical standards and physical efficiency test are qualifying in nature. The test will be conducted by officers authorised under the applicable Rajasthan Forest Subordinate Service Rules.
Selection Process
The selection process is expected to include the following stages:

The Board may conduct the examination in more than one phase. If required, the normalisation process will be applied.

- The examination will be objective type.
- All questions will carry equal marks.
- There will be one-third negative marking for every incorrect answer.
- Each question will have five options: A, B, C, D, and E.
- Candidates must mark only one option using a blue ballpoint pen.

- If none of the five options is marked for more than 10% of the questions, the candidate will be disqualified.
- An additional 10 minutes will be provided after the scheduled examination time to ensure that every question has one marked option.

- Art and Culture of Rajasthan: architecture, paintings, folk music, musical instruments, dances, drama, religious sects, folk deities, dresses, ornaments, fairs, festivals, customs, traditions, languages, dialects, literature, and prominent cultural personalities.
- Indian Political System with special reference to Rajasthan: Constitution, Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Fundamental Duties, Governor, Chief Minister, State Legislature, High Court, Rajasthan Public Service Commission, State Election Commission, State Information Commission, State Human Rights Commission, district administration, local self-government, and Panchayati Raj.
- Geography of Rajasthan: location, area, administrative and physical structure, forest resources, wildlife sanctuaries, forest and wildlife conservation, climate, soil, drainage, lakes, crops, irrigation projects, minerals, energy resources, tourism, monuments, population, literacy, disaster management, and climate change.

Salary / Pay Scale
The Forester post carries Pay Matrix Level-8 under the Rajasthan Government pay structure.
Newly appointed candidates will undergo a two-year probation period. During probation, fixed remuneration will be paid at the rates prescribed by the Rajasthan Government. Allowances such as house rent allowance, dearness allowance, urban compensation allowance, and special pay will not ordinarily be payable during probation. Regular pay and applicable allowances will become admissible after successful completion of probation, training, examination, and other prescribed requirements.
Examination and Admit Card Instructions
The examination is proposed to be conducted offline using OMR sheets. The examination date will be announced separately. Admit cards will be issued online through SSO Login and the Recruitment Portal; no admit card will be sent by post.
Candidates should carry the e-admit card, a valid original photo identity document, a recent passport-size photograph, and a transparent blue ballpoint pen. Mobile phones, purses, Bluetooth devices, communication equipment, and other prohibited items are not allowed inside the examination centre.
Candidates already employed in government service or government undertakings must inform their employer before applying and produce the required No Objection Certificate during verification.
The Board may cancel candidature for false information, forged documents, concealment of facts, impersonation, unfair means, disorderly conduct, or violation of examination instructions. Serious penalties, including debarment and action under the Rajasthan Public Examinations legislation, may apply for the use or facilitation of unfair means.
Important Instructions
- Applications will be accepted only online through the Rajasthan SSO Recruitment Portal.
- Applicants must use their own mobile number, e-mail ID, and SSO ID.
- The CET Senior Secondary 2024 application number and SSO ID will be verified by the system before the recruitment application is opened.
- The application is considered submitted only after an Application ID is generated. A preview alone does not constitute submission.
- Candidates must carefully verify category, domicile, disability, qualification, and document details before final submission.
- After final submission, the candidate's name, father's name, gender, date of birth, photograph, and handwriting sample cannot ordinarily be changed.
- Candidates should regularly check the RSSB website because separate correspondence will not be sent for every update.
