Age Limit

The age will be calculated as on 01/02/2026. The minimum age is not specified in the notification. The maximum age varies according to the post and category:

  • UR/EWS candidates: generally 27 years.
  • OBC (NCL) candidates: generally 30 years.
  • SC/ST candidates: generally 32 years.
  • Ph.D. candidates for Management Trainee (CC LAB): EWS upper age limit is 32 years.
  • PwBD candidates under UR/EWS: up to 37 years, wherever applicable.
  • PwBD candidates under OBC (NCL): up to 40 years, wherever applicable.
  • PwBD candidates under SC/ST: up to 42 years, wherever applicable.
  • Children or family members of victims of the 1984 riots receive an additional 5 years concession.
  • Age relaxation is up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates applying against reserved posts.
  • PwBD age relaxation is up to 10 years for UR/EWS, 13 years for OBC (NCL) and 15 years for SC/ST candidates, wherever applicable.

The vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease at the discretion of RCF Ltd. RCF may also prepare a panel or waitlist for unforeseen vacancies. PwBD reservation is applied on a horizontal interlocking basis, while EWS vacancies are subject to Government of India directives and applicable legal proceedings.

Eligibility / Qualification

All qualifications must generally be regular, full-time qualifications obtained from a UGC/AICTE/ICAR-recognized university, institution or approved institution, as applicable. Candidates appearing in the final year of graduation or post-graduation are not eligible.

Management Trainee (Chemical)

Candidates must possess any one of the following:

  • Four-year regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Petrochemical Engineering or Petrochemical Technology.
  • Three-year regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in the above disciplines acquired after a three-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering.
  • Regular full-time dual or integrated degree in the relevant discipline.

Minimum marks are 60% aggregate in the final year of engineering graduation, reduced to 55% for SC/ST candidates where applicable.

Management Trainee (Boiler)

Candidates must possess a regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical, Petrochemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering, or an eligible three-year B.E./B.Tech. obtained after a three-year Diploma in Engineering. A valid Boiler Operation Engineer’s Certificate (BOE) or Boiler Proficiency Certificate issued by a statutory authority is mandatory.

Management Trainee (Mechanical)

A regular full-time four-year B.E./B.Tech., three-year B.E./B.Tech. after a three-year Diploma in Engineering, or dual/integrated degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Minimum marks are 60% aggregate in the final year of engineering graduation.

Management Trainee (Electrical)

Candidates must have a regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Power Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering. Eligible three-year engineering degrees after a three-year Diploma and dual/integrated degrees are also accepted. The minimum marks requirement is generally 60%, with 55% for SC/ST candidates where applicable.

Management Trainee (Instrumentation)

Candidates must possess a regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation Technology or Instrumentation and Control Engineering. Eligible three-year engineering degrees after a three-year Diploma and dual/integrated degrees are also accepted. Minimum marks are 60%, with 55% for SC/ST candidates where applicable.

Management Trainee (Materials)

Candidates must possess a regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical, Petrochemical, Chemical Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical and Power, Electrical Power, Instrumentation, Instrumentation Technology or Instrumentation and Control Engineering. Eligible three-year engineering degrees after a three-year Diploma are also accepted. The vacancy is earmarked for the ST category with horizontal PwBD reservation for Low Vision. ST candidates must have at least 55% aggregate in the final year of engineering graduation.

Management Trainee (Civil)

Candidates must possess a regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. or eligible dual/integrated degree in Civil Engineering, Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Civil Engineering with Construction Technology, Civil Engineering and Planning, Civil Technology, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Construction Technology or Construction Technology and Management. Three-year engineering degrees after a three-year Diploma are also eligible. Minimum marks are 60% aggregate in the final year.

Management Trainee (Fire)

Candidates must possess a regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Fire or Fire and Safety. Eligible dual/integrated/allied degrees are accepted if Fire is specifically mentioned in the degree. Three-year B.E./B.Tech. after a three-year Diploma in Engineering is also eligible. Minimum marks are 60% aggregate in the final year.

Management Trainee (CC LAB)

Candidates may apply through any one of the following routes:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry from a UGC/AICTE-approved university or institution.
  • Four-year regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering or Chemical Technology.
  • Three-year regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in the relevant discipline after a three-year Diploma in Engineering.
  • Eligible dual/integrated/allied degree where Chemical or Petrochemical is mentioned in the degree.

Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. in Chemistry. There is no percentage criterion for Ph.D. candidates. Engineering graduates generally require 60% aggregate in the final year.

Management Trainee (Industrial Engineering)

Candidates may possess:

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Industrial Engineering, including eligible three-year degrees after a three-year Diploma.
  • B.E./B.Tech. in any engineering discipline plus a two-year regular full-time postgraduate degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, or Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.

Minimum marks are 60% in the final year of the engineering degree for the first route and 60% in the final year of the postgraduate degree/diploma for the other routes.

Management Trainee (Information Technology)

Candidates must possess a regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Technology or Computer Engineering. Eligible three-year degrees after a three-year Diploma and dual/integrated/allied degrees are also accepted if the relevant discipline is mentioned. Minimum marks are 60%, with 55% for SC candidates where applicable.

Management Trainee (Rajbhasha)

Candidates must possess a master’s degree from a recognized university through any one of the following combinations:

  • Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or English as the medium of examination at degree level.
  • Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or Hindi as the medium of examination at degree level.
  • Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects or as the mediums of examination in the prescribed combination.

Minimum marks are 60% aggregate in the final year of post-graduation.

Management Trainee (Finance)

Candidates must possess either:

  • CA or CMA qualification; or
  • Regular full-time graduation in Commerce, Accounting or Finance, such as B.Com., BMS, BAF or BBA, along with a two-year regular full-time MBA/MMS/PGDM/PGDBM or equivalent master’s qualification with specialization in Finance.

M.Com. is not considered. If the specialization is not mentioned on the marksheet, degree or diploma certificate, a letter from the university or college confirming the specialization is required. There is no percentage criterion for CA/CMA candidates. Other candidates require 60% in the final year or last two semesters of the qualifying postgraduate qualification, reduced to 55% for SC/ST candidates where applicable.

Management Trainee (Marketing)

Candidates must possess a regular full-time UGC/AICTE/ICAR-recognized degree in Science, Engineering or Agriculture, along with one of the following:

  • Two-year regular full-time MBA or MMS with Marketing specialization or major.
  • MBA in Agri-Business Management, Agri-Business and Management or Agriculture.
  • Two-year regular full-time postgraduate diploma in Business Management or Management, equivalent to MBA, with specialization in Agri-Business Management, Agri-Business and Management, Agriculture or Marketing.

Minimum marks are 60% aggregate in the final year of the postgraduate degree/diploma, reduced to 55% for SC/ST candidates where applicable.

For all courses involving a specialization, the specialization must be mentioned in the marksheet, degree or diploma certificate. Otherwise, a certificate or letter from the concerned college or university must be provided.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

  1. Computer-based online objective test.
  2. Document verification and scrutiny.
  3. Personal interview.
  4. Pre-employment medical examination.
  5. Preparation of the final merit list.

Candidates may be shortlisted for interview in an approximate ratio of 1:7, meaning up to seven eligible candidates for one post. Candidates obtaining nil or negative marks in the online test will not be eligible for the interview. Candidates must also secure at least 50% average marks in the personal interview.

Selected candidates must meet RCF Ltd’s pre-employment medical and physical fitness standards. The medical examination may include physical examination, audiometry, ECG, vision and eye tests, blood and urine pathology, chest X-ray, lung function test, height and weight measurement, body mass index and other tests recommended by the RCF Medical Officer.

  • Examination duration: 90 minutes.
  • The test will be computer-based and objective type.
  • Negative marking will apply for wrong answers; the notification does not specify the exact deduction.
  • The domain subject level will correspond to the qualification and discipline of the post.
  • The test medium will be English and Rajbhasha (Hindi).
  • Proposed examination cities include Bhopal, Delhi/Delhi NCR, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane/MMR region and Nagpur.
  • The exact examination date, centre and reporting time will be mentioned in the admit card.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected Management Trainees will undergo one year of training and receive a lump-sum stipend of ₹60,000 per month. Free shared hostel accommodation or lodging will be provided during training when posted at Trombay or Thal, subject to the company’s rules. Medical facilities for self and access to the RCF sports complex will also be provided.

After successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed in E1 Grade in the pay scale of ₹40,000–₹1,40,000. The approximate minimum total monthly gross emoluments will be ₹86,320, including Basic Pay, VDA, perks, HRA and other allowances.

Management Trainees posted outside Trombay and Thal, including Marketing Area Offices, will receive a fixed allowance of ₹5,000 per month towards boarding, lodging and local travel expenses, along with applicable TA/DA during tours, medical treatment for self and accident insurance.

Other benefits after absorption include company accommodation subject to availability, Performance Related Pay, medical facilities for self and dependants, gratuity, contributory provident fund, accident insurance, pension scheme and social security benefits as per company rules.

A bond of ₹2,00,000 is required at joining in the form of a fixed deposit with lien marked in favour of RCF Ltd. The bond period is four years, including the one-year training period. After training, candidates will undergo a six-month probation period.

Posting and Service Conditions

Selected candidates may be posted at the Trombay or Thal units, area offices, all-India marketing offices or project sites anywhere in India, as decided by the management. The job may involve rotating shifts, including morning, evening and night shifts. Candidates must possess the required medical and physical fitness for the post.

Only Indian citizens are eligible. Candidates employed with government departments, public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies or similar organizations must apply through proper channel or produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.

Important Reservation Information

  • SC/ST/OBC (NCL) reservation and relaxation will be governed by applicable Government of India and Department of Public Enterprises guidelines.
  • OBC (NCL) candidates must belong to the Central Government OBC list and submit a valid certificate issued on or after 01/04/2025 in the prescribed format.
  • EWS candidates must submit an Income and Asset Certificate issued on or after 01/04/2025 in the prescribed format.
  • PwBD candidates must have benchmark disability certification as required under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and may be considered only against identified posts.
  • Category once submitted in the application cannot be changed later.
  • Caste validity certificates, wherever applicable, must be submitted during document scrutiny or within the permitted period after joining.
  • A waitlist may be prepared in the ratio of 1:2 where vacancies are five or fewer and 1:1 where vacancies exceed five. The waitlist will remain valid for one year.
