Age Limit

The age will be calculated as on 01/02/2026. The upper age limit varies according to the post and category:

  • UR/EWS candidates: generally 27 years.
  • OBC (NCL) candidates: generally 30 years.
  • SC/ST candidates: generally 32 years.
  • PwBD candidates: up to 37 years for UR/EWS, 40 years for OBC (NCL), and 42 years for SC/ST, wherever applicable.
  • Ph.D. candidates applying for Management Trainee (CC LAB): upper age limit of 32 years for EWS as specified in the advertisement.
  • Children and family members of victims of the 1984 riots are eligible for an additional 5 years relaxation.
  • Age relaxation is up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates against reserved posts.
  • PwBD candidates may receive age relaxation up to 10 years for UR/EWS, 13 years for OBC (NCL) and 15 years for SC/ST, where applicable.

Eligibility / Qualification

Management Trainee (Chemical)

Candidates must possess any one of the following from a UGC/AICTE-recognized institution:

  • Regular full-time 4-year B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Petrochemical Engineering or Petrochemical Technology.
  • 3-year regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in the above disciplines acquired after a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering.
  • Regular full-time dual or integrated degree in the above disciplines.

Minimum marks required are 60% aggregate in the final year of engineering graduation, reduced to 55% for SC/ST candidates.

Management Trainee (Boiler)

A regular full-time 4-year or 3-year B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical, Petrochemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering from a UGC/AICTE-recognized institution is required. The 3-year degree must be acquired after a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering. Dual, integrated and allied degrees are eligible where the relevant discipline is mentioned in the degree. Candidates must also possess a valid Boiler Operation Engineer’s Certificate (BOE) or Boiler Proficiency Certificate issued by a statutory authority. Minimum marks are 60% in the final year, or 55% for SC/ST candidates.

Management Trainee (Mechanical)

Regular full-time 4-year B.E./B.Tech., 3-year B.E./B.Tech. after a 3-year Diploma in Engineering, or regular full-time dual/integrated degree in Mechanical Engineering from a UGC/AICTE-approved institution. Minimum 60% aggregate in the final year is required.

Management Trainee (Electrical)

Regular full-time 4-year or 3-year B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Power Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering, or a regular full-time dual/integrated degree in the same disciplines from a UGC/AICTE-approved institution. The 3-year degree must follow a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering. Minimum marks are 60%, or 55% for SC/ST candidates.

Management Trainee (Instrumentation)

Regular full-time 4-year or 3-year B.E./B.Tech. in Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation Technology or Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or a regular full-time dual/integrated degree in these disciplines from a UGC/AICTE-approved institution. The 3-year degree must be acquired after a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering. Minimum marks are 60%, or 55% for SC/ST candidates.

Management Trainee (Materials)

Regular full-time 4-year or 3-year B.E./B.Tech. in any of the following disciplines from a UGC/AICTE-recognized institution: Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Power Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation Technology or Instrumentation and Control Engineering. A 3-year degree must be obtained after a 3-year Diploma in Engineering. Only the ST vacancy is advertised; candidates must have at least 55% aggregate in the final year. One PwBD vacancy is identified for Low Vision.

Management Trainee (Civil)

Regular full-time 4-year or 3-year B.E./B.Tech., or regular full-time dual/integrated degree, in Civil Engineering, Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), Civil Engineering and Planning, Civil Technology, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Construction Technology or Construction Technology and Management. The qualification must be from a UGC/AICTE-recognized institution. The 3-year degree must follow a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering. Minimum marks required are 60% in the final year.

Management Trainee (Fire)

Regular full-time 4-year B.E./B.Tech. or 3-year B.E./B.Tech. after a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering in Fire or Fire & Safety from a UGC/AICTE-approved institution. Dual, integrated or allied degrees are eligible if Fire is mentioned in the degree. Minimum marks required are 60% in the final year.

Management Trainee (CC LAB)

Candidates may possess:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry from a UGC/AICTE-approved university or institution; or
  • Regular full-time 4-year B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering or Chemical Technology; or
  • 3-year regular full-time B.E./B.Tech. in the above disciplines acquired after a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering.

Dual, integrated and allied degrees are eligible where Chemical or Petrochemical is mentioned in the degree. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. in Chemistry. There is no percentage criterion for Ph.D. candidates. Engineering graduates require 60% aggregate in the final year.

Management Trainee (Industrial Engineering)

Candidates may possess:

  • Regular full-time 4-year or 3-year B.E./B.Tech. in Industrial Engineering, with the 3-year degree acquired after a 3-year Diploma in Engineering; or
  • Regular full-time 4-year B.E./B.Tech. in any discipline along with a 2-year regular full-time postgraduate degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, or Industrial Engineering and Operations Research; or
  • 3-year B.E./B.Tech. in any discipline after a 3-year Diploma in Engineering along with the relevant 2-year postgraduate degree or diploma.

The qualification must be from a UGC/AICTE-recognized institution. Minimum marks are 60% in the final year of the relevant engineering degree for the first route, and 60% in the final year of the postgraduate degree/diploma for the second and third routes.

Management Trainee (Information Technology)

Regular full-time 4-year or 3-year B.E./B.Tech. in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Technology or Computer Engineering from a UGC/AICTE-approved institution. The 3-year degree must be acquired after a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in Engineering. Dual, integrated or allied degrees are eligible if the relevant discipline is mentioned. Minimum marks are 60%, or 55% for SC candidates.

Management Trainee (Rajbhasha)

A Master’s degree from a recognized university in any of the following combinations is required:

  • Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or English as the medium of examination at degree level.
  • Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or Hindi as the medium of examination at degree level.
  • Master’s degree in a subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects, or with one language as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.

Minimum marks required are 60% aggregate in the final year of post-graduation.

Management Trainee (Finance)

Candidates must possess either:

  • CA or CMA; or
  • A regular full-time graduation degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance, such as B.Com, BMS, BAF or BBA, along with a 2-year regular full-time postgraduate qualification in Finance, including MBA Finance, MMS Finance, PGDBM equivalent to MBA, PGDM equivalent to MBA or an equivalent master’s degree with Finance specialization.

All qualifications must be from a UGC/AICTE-recognized university or institution. M.Com. is not considered. If the specialization is not printed on the marksheet, degree or diploma certificate, a certificate from the college or university specifying the specialization must be produced. There is no percentage criterion for CA/CMA candidates. Other candidates require 60% in the final year or last two semesters of the qualifying postgraduate degree, reduced to 55% for SC/ST candidates.

Management Trainee (Marketing)

Candidates must possess a regular full-time UGC/AICTE/ICAR-recognized degree in Science, Engineering or Agriculture, along with one of the following regular full-time 2-year postgraduate qualifications:

  • MBA or MMS with Marketing specialization or major.
  • MBA in Agri-Business Management.
  • MBA in Agri-Business and Management.
  • MBA in Agriculture.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, equivalent to MBA, with specialization in Agri-Business Management, Agri-Business and Management, Agriculture or Marketing.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Management, equivalent to MBA, with specialization in Agri-Business Management, Agri-Business and Management, Agriculture or Marketing.

Minimum marks required are 60% in the final year of the postgraduate degree or diploma, reduced to 55% for SC/ST candidates. A certificate from the college or university specifying the specialization is required if it is not mentioned in the marksheet, degree or diploma certificate.

General Eligibility Conditions

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of graduation or post-graduation are not eligible.
  • CGPA/OGPA/SGPA or letter grades must be converted into equivalent percentage according to the norms of the concerned university or institution. Candidates must produce the conversion norms at the interview.
  • Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification exactly; claims of equivalent qualifications will not be accepted.
  • Candidates working in Government departments, public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies or quasi-government organizations must apply through proper channel or produce a No Objection Certificate at the interview.
  • Reserved category candidates must submit the prescribed caste, EWS, disability and caste validity certificates wherever applicable. OBC (NCL) certificates must be issued on or after 01/04/2025, and EWS Income and Asset Certificates must also be issued on or after 01/04/2025.
  • PwBD candidates must have a benchmark disability as prescribed under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and may be considered only against identified posts.
  • The selected candidates may be posted at Trombay, Thal, area offices, All India marketing offices or project sites anywhere in India. Shift duties, including night shifts, may be assigned.

Selection Process

  1. Online objective-type test.
  2. Document verification.
  3. Personal interview.
  4. Pre-employment medical examination.
  5. Final merit list and appointment, subject to vacancy and waitlist conditions.

Candidates will ordinarily be shortlisted for the personal interview in a ratio of 1:7, meaning up to seven eligible candidates for one post, based on online test performance and successful document verification. Candidates obtaining nil or negative marks in the online test will not be eligible for the interview. Candidates must separately obtain a minimum average of 50% marks in the personal interview.

Separate discipline-wise and category-wise merit lists will be prepared. If two candidates obtain equal final marks, the percentage in the qualifying examination will be considered. If that percentage is also equal, the candidate born earlier will rank senior.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected Management Trainees will undergo one year of training and receive a lump-sum stipend of ₹60,000 per month. Free shared hostel accommodation or company accommodation will be provided during training when posted at Trombay or Thal, subject to applicable conditions. Medical facilities for self and sports complex facilities will also be available.

After successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed in E1 Grade in the pay scale of ₹40,000–₹1,40,000. The approximate minimum total monthly gross emoluments, including Basic Pay, VDA at 51.80%, perks at 34%, HRA at 30% and other allowances, will be ₹86,320.

Management Trainees posted outside Trombay and Thal, including marketing area offices, will receive a fixed allowance of ₹5,000 per month towards boarding, lodging and local travel. TA/DA, medical treatment for self and accident insurance will be provided as per company rules.

A bond of ₹2,00,000 must be deposited in the form of a fixed deposit with lien marked in favour of RCF Ltd. for a period of four years, including the one-year training period. After absorption, benefits may include company accommodation, Performance Related Pay, medical facilities for self and dependents, gratuity, contributory provident fund, accident insurance, pension and social security schemes.

Training and Probation

The training period is one year. After completion of training, selected candidates will undergo a six-month probation period.

Documents and Examination Instructions

Candidates must upload the required documents online during registration. Photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration must be clear and in the prescribed format. The handwritten declaration must be written by the candidate in English and signatures in capital letters are not accepted.

For the online test and interview, candidates must carry the call letter, original valid photo identity proof and a photocopy of the same identity proof. Acceptable identity documents include PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving Licence, Voter’s Card, bank passbook with photograph, Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar with photograph, employee ID, recognized college/university identity card, Bar Council identity card, or identity proof issued by a competent authority. Ration Card and Learner’s Driving Licence are not accepted.

The name on the call letter must exactly match the name on the photo identity proof. Candidates reporting after the reporting time mentioned in the call letter will not be permitted to take the examination. Mobile phones and other electronic communication devices are prohibited in the examination and interview hall.

RCF Ltd reserves the right to increase or decrease vacancies, modify or cancel the recruitment process, change examination centres, prepare a waitlist and fill or not fill any advertised post. A waitlist will be prepared in the ratio of 1:2 for posts having up to five vacancies and 1:1 for posts having more than five vacancies. The waitlist will remain valid for one year.
