State Bank of India has announced 9,124 Junior Associate vacancies for Customer Support and Sales in the clerical cadre. Graduates aged 20 to 28 years can apply online from 11/08/2026 to 31/08/2026.

State Bank of India has released the recruitment notification for Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17. A total of 9,124 vacancies are available, comprising 7,680 regular vacancies and 1,444 backlog vacancies. Eligible Indian citizens can apply online for vacancies in one State/UT only from 11/08/2026 to 31/08/2026.

Candidates applying for Maharashtra, Mumbai Metro and Uttar Pradesh vacancies should verify the operational areas of the concerned circle through the SBI Branch Locator before submitting the application. Candidates will be considered only against vacancies in the State/UT selected by them and will be posted in that State/UT if selected.

There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer or Inter State Transfer before completion of five years of service. After five years, transfer requests may be considered only in exceptional cases such as extreme compassionate grounds or spouse grounds, at the sole discretion of SBI and according to the applicable transfer policy.

Eligibility / Qualification

Educational Qualification

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
  • Candidates possessing an Integrated Dual Degree certificate must ensure that the date of passing the degree is on or before 31/12/2026.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year or final semester of graduation may apply provisionally. If provisionally selected, they must produce proof of passing the graduation examination on or before 31/12/2026.
  • Matriculate Ex-Servicemen possessing the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education, or the corresponding certificate issued by the Navy or Air Force after completing at least 15 years of service, are also eligible. The certificate must be dated on or before 31/12/2026.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates must be proficient in the specified local language of the State/UT selected by them. The language test will be conducted after qualifying in the Main Examination and before joining the Bank. Candidates who studied the specified local language in Class 10 or Class 12 and produce the relevant mark sheet or certificate will not be required to appear for the language test.

Candidates who fail the Local Language Proficiency Test will not be offered appointment. The candidate must select one language at the time of submitting the online application wherever more than one language is specified.

Other Eligibility Conditions

  • Candidates currently working in SBI in the clerical cadre are not eligible.
  • Candidates previously employed in SBI who resigned while working in the clerical cadre are also not eligible.
  • Candidates with adverse reports concerning character, antecedents or moral turpitude are not eligible.
  • OBC reservation is available only to candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer. OBC candidates must produce a certificate containing the Non-Creamy Layer clause issued during the period from 01/04/2026 to the date of joining.
  • EWS candidates must produce an Income and Asset Certificate for financial year 2025-26, valid for 2026-27, in the prescribed Government of India format.
  • SC/ST candidates must produce a caste certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed Government of India format.
  • PwBD candidates claiming reservation must produce a latest disability certificate issued by the competent authority. The certificate must be dated on or before 31/08/2026.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Online Preliminary Examination.
  2. Online Main Examination.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test, wherever applicable.
  4. Document verification and verification of eligibility.
  5. Medical fitness and other joining formalities.

The Preliminary Examination marks will not be added to the final merit list. The final merit list will be prepared State-wise and category-wise on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination, subject to qualifying the local language test wherever applicable.

Approximately ten times the number of vacancies, subject to availability and the Bank's decision, will be shortlisted for the Main Examination. A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies, State-wise and category-wise, may be maintained. The wait list will remain valid for one year from the date of declaration of the final result.

The minimum qualifying marks will be decided by SBI. SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates will receive a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.

Examination Medium

The examination will be available in English and Hindi, along with the specified regional languages for eligible States/UTs. Regional language options include Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu, depending on the State/UT selected.

Bonus Marks for Trained SBI Apprentices

Eligible trained Apprentices of SBI will receive bonus marks equal to 2.5% of the maximum Main Examination marks, that is, 5 marks out of 200. This benefit is available to eligible apprentices whose engagement started on or after 01/01/2022, who completed one year of specified branch experience successfully on or before 31/08/2026, and who passed the required skill evaluation test and obtained the joint National Apprenticeship Certificate issued by SBI-NSDC or BFSI-SSC.

PwBD Reservation and Scribe Facility

A 4% horizontal reservation is available for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities under Section 34 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The identified categories include visual impairment, hearing impairment, locomotor disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, mental illness and multiple disabilities.

Candidates with disability of 40% or more who have physical limitations affecting writing may use a scribe. Eligible candidates using a scribe will receive 20 minutes of compensatory time for every hour of examination, whether or not they actually use the scribe facility. The candidate must arrange the scribe at their own cost and comply with the prescribed undertaking and qualification requirements.

Salary / Pay Scale

The pay scale for Junior Associates is:

₹24,050-1,340/3-₹28,070-1,650/3-₹33,020-2,000/4-₹41,020-2,340/7-₹57,400-4,400/1-₹61,800-2,680/1-₹64,480.

The starting basic pay is ₹26,730, including two advance increments admissible to graduates. The total starting emoluments at a metro location such as Mumbai are approximately ₹46,000 per month, including Dearness Allowance, other applicable allowances and graduate increments.

Employees will also be eligible for applicable perquisites, provident fund, pension under the New Pension Scheme, medical facilities, leave fare and other benefits as per SBI rules. Allowances may vary according to the place of posting.

Probation and Service Conditions

Selected Junior Associates will remain on probation for a minimum period of six months. They must complete the e-lessons prescribed by SBI during probation for confirmation. The probation period may be extended if the required lessons are not completed or if performance does not meet the Bank's expectations.

The post may involve customer calls, banking services, advisory services, cross-selling of products, outdoor travel, flexible working hours and shift duties. Appointment is subject to medical fitness, Know Your Employee formalities, satisfactory document verification and compliance with SBI service and conduct rules.

Examination Documents and Important Instructions

  • Call letters for the Preliminary and Main Examinations will be available online; hard copies will not be sent by post.
  • Preliminary call letters are expected to be available approximately ten days before the examination.
  • Candidates must retain the authenticated Preliminary call letter and authenticated copy of the identity proof for the Main Examination.
  • Candidates must bring the call letter with a photograph pasted on it and two additional photographs matching the photograph on the call letter.
  • Candidates should carry an original photo identity proof and a self-attested photocopy. Acceptable documents include Passport, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Bank Passbook with attested photograph, School or College Identity Card, or an identity certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer.
  • Mobile phones, pagers, smart watches, calculators and other communication devices are prohibited inside the examination premises.
  • SBI may capture thumb impressions or iris data for biometric verification. Any inconsistency or attempt at impersonation may lead to cancellation of candidature and legal action.
  • Candidates should retain approximately eight copies of the photograph uploaded with the application for use in later stages.
  • The application must include a photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration in the prescribed format. The handwritten declaration must be written in English and not in capital letters.
  • No correction or change will be permitted after final submission of the online application.
