Application Fee

The examination fee can be paid through credit card, debit card or net banking using the online payment gateway available on the portal. Candidates should preserve the fee receipt after successful payment. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against another application.

Age Limit

The maximum age for Special Educators working on a contractual or daily-wage basis is 60 years as on 03/11/2026. The notification does not specify a minimum age limit or separate age relaxation provision.

Vacancy Details

This notification is for an eligibility examination and does not announce regular recruitment vacancies. The notification refers to approximately 2,500 Special Teachers/Assistant Teachers (CWSN) at the primary and upper-primary levels for the purpose of conducting the Special TET.

Eligibility / Qualification

Primary Level

The following teachers working at the primary level are eligible for the Primary Level Special TET:

• Teachers working in schools operated by the State Government.
• Teachers working in schools operated by local bodies and schools granted affiliation or recognition by the State Government or Basic Education Council from time to time.
• Teachers working in schools receiving financial assistance from the State Government.
• Special Educators working at the primary level in Special Education schools for Classes 1 to 5.

Special Educators (CWSN) working on a contractual or daily-wage basis at the primary level must have:

• Passed the graduation examination.
• Passed D.Ed. Special Education or an equivalent examination recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
• An active CRR number and a valid RCI registration certificate.

Upper Primary Level

The following teachers working at the upper-primary level are eligible for the Upper Primary Level Special TET:

• Teachers working in schools operated by the State Government.
• Teachers working in schools operated by local bodies and schools granted affiliation or recognition by the State Government, Basic Education Council or Secondary Education Council.
• Teachers working in schools receiving financial assistance from the State Government.
• Special Educators working at the upper-primary level in Special Education schools for Classes 6 to 8.
• Teachers working at the upper-primary or junior high school level.

Special Educators (CWSN) working on a contractual or daily-wage basis at the upper-primary level must have:

• Passed the graduation examination.
• Passed B.Ed. Special Education or an equivalent examination recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
• An active CRR number and a valid RCI registration certificate.

Examination Applicability

The Special TET is applicable to teachers and Special Educators working in the following institutions:

• State Government-run schools.
• Schools operated by local bodies and recognized or affiliated by the State Government or the Basic Education Council.
• Government-aided schools.
• Special Education schools at the primary level for Classes 1 to 5.
• Special Education schools at the upper-primary level for Classes 6 to 8.

The detailed syllabus for both levels is available on the official UPESSC website. If the examination is conducted in more than one shift, normalization will be applied as per the prescribed procedure, and normalized marks will be considered for determining eligibility.

Qualifying Marks

The eligibility certificate will be issued to candidates securing the prescribed qualifying marks. For Special Educator (CWSN) candidates, the qualifying marks applicable to the relevant category will be considered.

Examination Centre

Examination centres will generally be established at district headquarters according to requirements. Any examination centre may be allotted to a candidate. Information regarding the district of the examination centre is expected approximately 10 days before the examination, while the specific examination centre details are expected approximately 3 days before the examination through the Commission website and admit card.

Candidates must appear only at the examination centre and subject mentioned on their admit card. If a candidate appears at another centre or in another subject, the answer sheet will not be evaluated and the candidature will be cancelled.

Selection and Certification Process

1. One Time Registration (OTR) and submission of the online Special TET application.
2. Participation in the written eligibility examination.
3. Evaluation of the OMR answer sheet.
4. Application of normalization, if the examination is conducted in multiple shifts.
5. Issue of the eligibility certificate to candidates securing the prescribed qualifying marks.

The Special TET is an eligibility examination and this notification does not itself constitute an appointment or regular recruitment process.

Important Examination Instructions

• OTR is mandatory before submitting the online application.
• Applications submitted through any mode other than the prescribed online system will not be accepted.
• All registration and application details must be entered carefully. Changes to category, sub-category, date of birth and gender will not be allowed after final submission.
• Registration and application forms must be filled in English.
• The date of birth recorded on the High School or equivalent certificate will be accepted.
• The candidate must upload a scanned signature in JPG or JPEG format, generally between 10 KB and 200 KB, with a resolution of 140 × 110 pixels.
• The passport-size photograph should generally be between 30 KB and 300 KB, with a resolution between 300 and 600 pixels.
• Certificates and documents uploaded with the application should be in PDF format and generally between 50 KB and 500 KB.
• Candidates must carry a black ball-point pen and use it to fill the OMR answer sheet.
• Use of fountain pens, gel pens, sketch pens, HB pencils and whitener is prohibited.
• Eraser, blade, nail, whitener or any other material must not be used to erase or damage the OMR answer sheet.
• Candidates requiring a scribe must bring their own scribe and register the complete details with the Commission office at least one week before the written examination. Such Divyangjan candidates will receive an additional 20 minutes per hour.
• No travelling allowance will be paid for appearing in the examination.
• Misrepresentation, concealment of information, copying, indiscipline or misconduct may lead to cancellation of candidature and debarment from future examinations.
• Reserved-category benefits are available only to eligible residents of Uttar Pradesh and valid certificates in the prescribed Uttar Pradesh format must be produced.
• EWS candidates must submit the certificate prescribed by the Uttar Pradesh Government and the certificate for the year preceding the application year is required.
