The examination fee can be paid online using a Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI. Payment through any other mode will not be accepted.

Age Limit

The minimum age of the candidate must be 17 years. The age will be calculated with reference to the first date of the admission year. The notification specifies the minimum age requirement; no upper age limit is mentioned in the notification.

Eligibility / Qualification

  • Candidates who have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks are eligible for the D.El.Ed. course.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks, as per applicable rules.
  • Candidates who have passed the Intermediate examination with Urdu as a subject may apply for the Urdu subject option.
  • Candidates who have passed the Intermediate or equivalent examination in 2026 may also apply, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions.
  • Candidates holding qualifications such as Shastri, Polytechnic, ITI or other similar qualifications are not eligible merely on the basis of those qualifications.
  • Candidates who completed a vocational course under the 10+2 system, or obtained Intermediate qualification after completing Madhyama or Fauqania, may be eligible if they fulfil the prescribed conditions.

Course Duration and Attendance Requirements

  • The D.El.Ed. programme has a duration of two academic years.
  • Students may be permitted to complete the programme within a maximum period of three years from the date of admission.
  • Each academic year must include at least 200 working days, excluding the examination and admission period.
  • The training institution must function for at least six days per week.
  • Minimum attendance must be 80% for the complete course, including practical work, and 90% for school internship.

Admission Process

Admission will be conducted on the basis of marks obtained in the Bihar D.El.Ed. Online Joint Entrance Examination 2026. A merit list will be prepared, and institutions will be allotted according to the candidate's merit, reservation rules and submitted college preference.

The allotment process will follow the Bihar Government's reservation provisions. Candidates will be required to submit their college choices online, and institution allotment will be made through a computerised process.

Reservation in the two-year D.El.Ed. programme will be provided according to applicable Bihar Government rules, subject to the prescribed limits:

Horizontal Reservation

  • 5% reservation is available for Divyang candidates.
  • 5% reservation is available for dependent sons or unmarried daughters of Bihar-resident government employees, retired employees, disabled employees or deceased military personnel, as applicable under the rules.
  • 10% seats are reserved for candidates who passed the Intermediate examination with Urdu as a subject, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions.
  • In every institution, 50% of the total seats will be reserved for Science candidates and 50% for Arts/Commerce candidates.

Entrance Examination Pattern

The entrance examination will be conducted online through a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The paper will contain 120 objective and multiple-choice questions, carrying a total of 120 marks.

Application Process

Candidates must apply online through bsebdeled.com. The application process consists of registration, filling in the application form and payment of the examination fee.

  1. Visit the official website and select the Register (New Candidate) option.
  2. Complete initial registration by entering the candidate's name, email address, mobile number and password.
  3. Verify the registered mobile number using the OTP received by SMS.
  4. Log in and fill in the personal, educational and reservation-related details.
  5. Upload the recent photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  6. Use the Save and Preview options to verify all information carefully.
  7. Correct any errors before final submission using the Edit option.
  8. Pay the examination fee through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
  9. Download and preserve a copy of the submitted application form and payment receipt.

After final submission, requests for correction in the application form will not be accepted. Only applications submitted online with the prescribed fee within the specified period will be considered.

Photograph and Signature Specifications

  • Recent photograph: scanned file size between 20 KB and 100 KB.
  • Photograph dimensions: approximately 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm.
  • Signature: scanned file size between 10 KB and 50 KB.
  • The photograph should have a white or light-coloured background, show the face and eyes clearly, and should not contain a cap, cloth or dark glasses.
  • Red-eye effect, if present, should be removed before uploading.

Documents Required

Candidates should keep the following documents ready for uploading or verification:

  • Matriculation (Class 10) certificate and marksheet for date-of-birth verification.
  • Intermediate (Class 12) certificate and marksheet.
  • Caste certificate for SC/ST candidates issued by the competent authority.
  • Creamy-layer-free certificate for BC/EBC candidates, wherever applicable.
  • EWS certificate issued by the competent authority.
  • Disability certificate for Divyang candidates.
  • Bihar residential certificate for Bihar candidates.
  • Applicable certificate for dependents of Bihar-resident government employees, retired employees, disabled employees or deceased military personnel.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates must keep their User ID and password confidential and should not send them to the examination committee office.
  • A dummy admit card may be downloaded after the final date of online application to identify and correct discrepancies through the portal.
  • The application must be filled in by the candidate personally. Incomplete, duplicate or incorrectly filled applications may be rejected.
  • Incorrect information regarding reservation category may affect the examination result and institution allotment, and the candidate will be responsible for the consequences.
  • Applications submitted without the prescribed fee within the scheduled period will not result in issuance of an admit card.
  • Details entered in the online application will be used for issuing the admit card. No request for correction will be accepted after issuance of the original admit card.

  • Any dispute relating to the examination will fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court of Judicature at Patna.
