NBEMS NEET-PG 2026 Admission 2026-27 - MD/MS/PG Diploma, DNB, DrNB

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Indian Medical Graduates

Candidates must:

  • Possess MBBS Degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized as per NMC Act, 2019 and Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023.
  • Possess Permanent or Provisional Registration Certificate of MBBS qualification issued by NMC / erstwhile MCI / State Medical Council.
  • Have completed one year internship or be likely to complete internship on or before 30/09/2026.

Eligibility for Foreign Medical Graduates (Indian Citizens / OCI)

  • Must have qualified FMGE (Screening Test) as per Screening Test Regulations, 2002.
  • Must be registered with NMC / erstwhile MCI / State Medical Council.
  • Must have completed internship or be likely to complete internship on or before 30/09/2026.

Eligibility for Foreign Nationals

  • Basic medical qualification equivalent to MBBS must be recognized by NMC.
  • If security clearance is required as per MHA, it must be obtained before applying and submitted while applying.
  • NMC may grant temporary registration for the duration of the PG course subject to conditions (registration in home country and NOC/permission from the medical council of that country).

Time-Bound Sections

The question paper will be divided into five time-bound sections (Group A, B, C, D, E):

  • 36 questions per section
  • 42 minutes per section
  • Candidates cannot move to the next section before the allotted time ends.
  • After a section ends, candidates cannot review or change answers of that section.

Admit Card & Exam Day Requirements

  • Admit Card will be made live on NBEMS website on 27/08/2026.
  • Admit card will not be sent by post.
  • Candidates must bring:
    • Printed COLOUR copy of barcoded/QR coded admit card
    • COLOUR photocopy of SMC/MCI/NMC registration certificate (to be retained by the test centre)
    • Any one original valid photo ID: PAN Card / Driving License / Voter ID / Passport / Aadhaar (with photograph)
    • If claiming scribe/extra time under RPwD Act, 2016: UDID/Disability Certificate

Important: Candidates who provided Aadhaar details and consented for Aadhaar authentication must bring Aadhaar on exam day and ensure Aadhaar biometric authentication is not locked/disabled.

Test City / Test Centre Allotment

  • Test City/Test Centre allotment is not on “First Come First Serve” basis.
  • Candidates must select three (03) preferred Test States while applying.
  • The 1st preferred Test State is mandatory and must be the State of the Correspondence Address.
  • Allotted test city will be visible in candidate login on or after 11/08/2026.
  • Exact test centre venue will be informed through admit card on or after 27/08/2026.

Special Note: No test centre is available in UT Chandigarh; candidates with correspondence address in Chandigarh will be treated as belonging to Punjab for test state/city allocation.

Counseling (MCC / State Authorities)

NBEMS role is limited to conducting the exam and declaring result. Counseling and seat allotment are not done by NBEMS.

For All India 50% Quota, Deemed/Central Universities (100%), and All India Open DNB seats, counseling is conducted by MCC of DGHS.

  • NEET-PG is the single eligibility-cum-ranking exam for MD/MS/PG Diploma admissions; no separate state/institution entrance exam is valid for these courses.
  • Institutions not covered under centralized admissions for MD/MS seats through NEET-PG include: AIIMS (all), PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute (Thiruvananthapuram).
