- Subjects: Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science (History/Geography/Civics/Economics), Science (Physics/Chemistry/Zoology/Botany), General Knowledge & Current Affairs
- Note: Written exam is qualifying only for Physical Efficiency Test.
- Minimum qualifying: Candidates scoring less than 30% in written exam will be declared failed for PET.

Third Gender candidates will be assessed as per standards applicable to Backward Class category as mentioned in the notification.
Tie-breaking Rule (Merit)
If two or more candidates obtain equal PET marks, merit order will be decided by:
- Date of birth (older candidate placed higher)
- If still tied, higher educational qualification
- If still tied, alphabetical order of name as per Matric certificate
Eligibility / Qualification (Key Conditions)
- Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Must be an enrolled and trained Home Guard (Male/Female/Third Gender) in Bihar Home Guard organization with minimum 5 years of service/duty.
- Must have at least 10 years of service remaining as on the cut-off date (cut-off date: 01/08/2025).
- Educational Qualification: Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent passed by 01/08/2025.
