Opening Overview

The Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani has issued the Information Bulletin and Scheme of Examination for the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2025. The examination is conducted for candidates intending to become Primary Teachers, Trained Graduate Teachers and Post Graduate Teachers in Haryana. The bulletin covers Levels 1, 2 and 3, application fees, eligibility, examination pattern, qualifying marks and important instructions.

Important Dates

The examination date, admit card downloading date and correction-contact dates will be notified separately after approval from the State Government or through the official admit card notice.

Application Fee

The fee is required to be paid through the online payment gateway. The fee once deposited will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Eligibility and Levels

HTET is applicable to candidates who possess the minimum educational qualifications prescribed for the relevant teaching level under the service rules of Haryana.

Candidates intending to appear for more than one level must apply separately for each level through the prescribed online registration process.

Qualification Details

Level 1: Primary Teacher (PRT)

Candidates must satisfy one of the prescribed combinations, including the following:

• Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
• Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education under the applicable NCTE regulations.
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Candidates must also have Hindi or Sanskrit in Matriculation, or Hindi as one of the subjects at the senior secondary, graduation or post-graduation level.

Level 2: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT)

Level 2 includes TGT subjects such as Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Urdu, Physical Education, Home Science, Art and Music.

The prescribed qualifications generally include:

• A relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject, along with a recognized teacher education qualification such as BTC/JBT/D.Ed., D.El.Ed., B.Ed. or B.Ed. (Special Education), as applicable.
• A four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education or four-year integrated B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. B.Ed. with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject, wherever prescribed.
• For TGT Social Studies, the qualifying degree must include the prescribed combination of subjects such as History, Political Science, Economics, Geography, Sociology or Psychology.
• For TGT Science, the prescribed subject combination may include Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Mathematics.
• For language subjects, the concerned language must be studied as an elective, compulsory, core or honours subject and as a teaching subject in the relevant teacher education course.
• For TGT Physical Education, Graduation with B.P.Ed., D.P.Ed. or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university is prescribed.

Hindi or Sanskrit in Matriculation, or Hindi at the higher education level, is required as specified in the applicable service rules.

Level 3: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)

Level 3 includes PGT subjects such as English, Hindi, Geography, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Punjabi, Urdu, History, Political Science, Sanskrit, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Commerce, Economics, Music, Fine Arts, Computer Science and Physical Education.

The general eligibility requirements include:

• A relevant postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.
• B.Ed. from a recognized university, or the specific teacher education qualification prescribed for the subject.
• Hindi or Sanskrit in Matriculation, or Hindi as one of the subjects at senior secondary, graduation or post-graduation level.
• Consistent good academic record.

Subject-specific examples include M.A. Political Science or Public Administration for PGT Political Science; M.A. Sanskrit or Acharya for PGT Sanskrit; relevant M.Sc. qualifications for PGT Biology, Physics and Chemistry; M.A./M.Sc. Mathematics for PGT Mathematics; M.Com. for PGT Commerce; M.A. Economics for PGT Economics; and relevant postgraduate qualifications with B.Ed. for other subjects.

For PGT Computer Science, the bulletin specifies M.Sc. Computer Science, regular MCA, B.E./B.Tech. Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology with 55% aggregate marks, as applicable.

Examination Pattern

All three HTET levels consist of one paper containing 150 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one mark and has four alternatives, of which one answer is correct. There is no negative marking.

Level 1: Primary Teacher (PRT)

Level 2: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT)

Level 3: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)

The duration of each paper is 150 minutes, or two and a half hours. The examination is conducted in conventional pen-and-paper mode using an OMR answer sheet. Questions other than those concerning language subjects are bilingual in Hindi and English.

Qualifying Marks

There is no negative marking in HTET. Candidates studying in the final year of the required qualifying professional degree may apply, but appointment eligibility will be considered only after acquiring the minimum qualification.

Result and Certificate Details

The HTET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime from the date of issuance for all levels. There is no restriction on the number of attempts. Candidates who have already qualified HTET may appear again to improve their score.

Candidates declared qualified will be awarded a certificate by the Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani. Separate certificates are issued to candidates who qualify in more than one level. Qualifying HTET does not itself confer a right to appointment; final eligibility is verified by the appointing authority according to the applicable service rules.

The result is declared after comparison and verification of the IRIS biometric database. Candidates required to complete biometric verification are provided three opportunities. If a candidate remains absent in all three opportunities and reports later, biometric verification may be conducted after payment of the prescribed ₹10,000 fee. The relevant period remains valid for one year from the date of result declaration.

Admit Card and Examination Instructions

Admit cards will not be sent by post. Candidates must download their admit cards from the official BSEH or HTET website and appear only at the examination centre allotted to them. No request for change of examination centre will be accepted.

Candidates should:

• Reach the allotted examination centre at least two hours before the examination.
• Carry the valid admit card and confirmation page.
• Carry the same photograph and signature uploaded during online application.
• Carry a black or blue ballpoint pen as permitted in the instructions.
• Affix the left-hand thumb impression on the confirmation page and OMR answer sheet as directed.
• Return the OMR answer sheet to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.

Calculators, mobile phones, electronic devices, printed or written material, log tables, slide rules, electronic watches and other prohibited items are not allowed inside the examination centre. Possession of such items may be treated as an unfair means case.

Differently Abled Candidates

Differently abled candidates, including blind candidates unable to write with their own hands, may receive 50 minutes of compensatory time in each paper, whether or not they use a scribe. The scribe facility may be allowed to candidates with 40% or more visual impairment or to candidates unable to write independently.

Candidates may arrange their own scribe or request one from the Board Office. Such candidates should contact the Board during office hours at least seven days before the examination. The educational qualification of the scribe must not be higher than Senior Secondary. Alternate questions may be provided in place of vision-based questions for blind candidates.

Answer Key Objection Process

After the examination, answer keys for Levels 1, 2 and 3 will be uploaded on the Board website. Candidates may submit objections online through the prescribed link. The objection fee is ₹1,000 per question and is non-refundable.

If the subject experts find an error in the answer key, the fee for that particular question will be refunded through the Accounts Branch within three months from the date of result declaration. The final answer key will be prepared according to the report of the subject experts, and the Board's decision on objections will be final. Objections through fax, application or email, and objections submitted after the specified deadline, will not be accepted.

Important Instructions

• Only one registration should be submitted for one level or multiple levels as permitted by the online system.
• More than one application for the same level may result in cancellation of candidature and debarment from future examinations.
• Candidate details such as name, father's name, mother's name and date of birth should be entered according to the Class 10 or secondary certificate.
• The latest coloured photograph, signature and thumb impression must be uploaded in JPG format.
• The photograph should have a white background and at least 60% visibility.
• Photograph size: 20 KB to 50 KB; signature size: 10 KB to 50 KB; thumb impression size: 10 KB to 50 KB.
• Photograph dimensions should be 3.5 cm width by 4.5 cm height.
• Corrections in particulars, photograph, signature, thumb impression, level, caste category, physical disability status and home state are permitted only during the specified correction period.
• No offline correction request through fax, application or email will be accepted.
• There is no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of OMR answer sheets.
• The record of HTET-2025, including OMR answer sheets, will be preserved for four months from the date of result declaration.
• Legal disputes relating to HTET-2025 will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Sessions Courts at Bhiwani, Haryana.
