Application Fee

Age Limit

The age will be calculated on the basis of the date of birth mentioned in the Matriculation or equivalent certificate, with 01/08/2026 as the age cut-off date.

• Unreserved category: 18 to 25 years
• BC and EBC male candidates: 18 to 27 years
• BC and EBC female candidates: 18 to 28 years
• SC and ST male and female candidates: 18 to 30 years
• Bihar Government employees: Up to 5 years of additional maximum-age relaxation, as per applicable rules

Reservation benefits based on caste are available only to candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar. Candidates from other states will be treated as Unreserved candidates.

Vacancy Details

The women’s horizontal reservation figures and Freedom Fighter Ward (FFW) figures are included within the respective category-wise vacancy totals. The number of vacancies may be revised if additional requisitions are received or amendments are made before the written examination.

Eligibility / Qualification

• Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
• Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination or an equivalent examination.
• The qualification must be held by the last date of application, 05/03/2026.
• Reservation certificates must be issued by the competent authority and must be available by the last date of application.

Physical Standards

For male candidates, the difference between the chest measurement without expansion and with expansion must be at least 5 cm. Female candidates must have a minimum weight of 48 kg. No relaxation in the prescribed physical standards will be allowed.

The written examination will be used to shortlist candidates for the physical test. Physical test marks will not be added to the merit score. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the main written examination, category-wise and in descending order of merit.

Exam Pattern

The written examination will be conducted at the Matriculation or equivalent level and will consist of objective-type questions. There will be two question papers.

• Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
• 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in both papers.
• The examination will be conducted using an OMR answer sheet.
• Candidates must secure at least 30% marks separately in each question paper to qualify for the Physical Standard Test.
• Approximately three times the number of advertised vacancies in each reservation category will be shortlisted for the physical test, subject to the applicable cut-off.
• In case of multiple shifts or multiple question papers, normalized marks may be calculated using the Equi-Percentile Method.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for Final Merit

The final merit list will be prepared category-wise based on the marks obtained in the main written examination. If candidates obtain equal marks, preference will first be given to the older candidate. Further ties will be resolved based on educational qualification and then the alphabetical order of the candidate’s name as recorded in the Class 10 certificate.

Document Verification Details

Candidates qualifying in the physical test must produce the original documents along with one self-attested photocopy, including:

• Valid photo identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence or Voter ID
• Matriculation or equivalent certificate and marksheet for date of birth
• Intermediate or equivalent pass certificate and marksheet
• Caste and domicile certificates, wherever applicable
• Non-Creamy Layer certificate for BC and EBC candidates
• EWS Income and Asset Certificate for the financial year 2024-2025
• Freedom Fighter Ward certificate, wherever applicable
• Any other certificate required under the applicable Bihar Government rules

Failure to produce the required original documents on the scheduled date may result in cancellation of candidature. No separate opportunity or extension will ordinarily be granted.

Medical Examination and Character Verification

Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination before appointment. The medical examination will include checks relating to eyesight, colour blindness, hearing ability and stammering. Candidates found medically unfit will not be appointed.

Character verification will be conducted before appointment. Candidates may be declared ineligible if adverse information is received, facts are concealed, a criminal case is pending against them or they have been convicted by a court.

Result and Merit List Updates

The result, cut-off marks, physical test schedule, document verification schedule and final merit list will be published on the official CSBC website. Important Instructions

• Only one online application may be submitted by a candidate.
• Multiple applications submitted by the same candidate may be rejected.
• Candidates must use an active mobile number and email ID during registration.
• The photograph must be recent, in colour, with a white background, and should be uploaded in the prescribed file format and size.
• Separate English and Hindi signatures must be uploaded as instructed.
