Age Limit

The candidate must be at least 18 years old and not more than 42 years old as on 09/03/2026.

  • Haryana Scheduled Caste candidates: 5 years’ relaxation.
  • Haryana Backward Class candidates: 5 years’ relaxation.
  • PwBD candidates: 5 years’ relaxation, with an additional 5 years for PwBD candidates belonging to SC/ST, BC or EWS categories, subject to a maximum age of 52 years for eligible Group A and B posts.
  • Wife of military personnel disabled during military service: 5 years.
  • Widowed or legally divorced women: 5 years.
  • Judicially separated women residing separately for more than two years: 5 years.
  • Unmarried women: 5 years.
  • Ex-servicemen, including Short Service Commissioned Officers and Emergency Commissioned Officers: relaxation equal to military service plus three years, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
  • Eligible Haryana Government contractual, ad hoc, work-charged or daily-wage personnel: relaxation equal to completed service on an equivalent post, subject to the prescribed conditions and maximum age limit.

For candidates other than ex-servicemen, the upper age limit after availing relaxation generally cannot exceed 52 years. The Matriculation certificate or equivalent academic certificate is the accepted proof of age.

The ESM reservation figures are 45 General, 16 SC, 8 BC-A and 4 BC-B posts in the Rest of Haryana Cadre, and 2 General and 1 SC post in the Mewat Cadre. PwBD reservation includes Visual Impairment, Orthopaedic Disability, Hard of Hearing and Intellectual Disability/Multiple Disability categories. The SC bifurcation into DSC and OSC will be announced later, and the number of posts may be varied by HPSC.

Eligibility / Qualification

For PGT Computer Science, candidates must possess one of the following regular qualifications from a recognized university:

  • M.Sc. Computer Science of a regular two-year duration.
  • MCA of a regular three-year duration.
  • BE/B.Tech. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology.
  • At least 55% aggregate marks in the relevant Graduation or Post-Graduation qualification.
  • Matriculation with Hindi or Sanskrit, or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.
  • Certificate of qualification in Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) or School Teachers Eligibility Test (STET).
  • Consistently good academic record.

Consistent good academic record means an average of at least 50% marks in any three examinations from Matriculation, 10+2, Graduation and Post-Graduation, as applicable. The candidate must also have at least 55% marks in the relevant Graduation or Post-Graduation qualification. SC and PwBD candidates are eligible for up to 5% relaxation in qualifying marks and must secure at least 52.25% in the relevant qualification.

Professional training diplomas or certificates issued outside the Haryana Education Department will be accepted only when recognized by the Haryana Government.

Selection Process

  1. Screening Test, if conducted.
  2. Subject Knowledge Test.
  3. Interview or Viva-Voce.
  4. Document verification and final eligibility assessment.

HPSC may call candidates directly for the Subject Knowledge Test without conducting the Screening Test. The final merit list will be prepared by adding the marks of the Subject Knowledge Test and Interview/Viva-Voce.

Each question contains five options, A, B, C, D and E. Candidates must darken E when they do not want to attempt a question. If none of the five circles is darkened, 0.25 mark will be deducted. Failure to darken any option in more than 10% of the questions may result in disqualification. Candidates up to four times the number of advertised posts may be shortlisted, subject to securing the minimum cut-off. Screening Test marks will not be counted in the final merit.

Interview/Viva-Voce

The Interview/Viva-Voce carries 12.5% weightage. The final merit list will be based on the Subject Knowledge Test and Interview/Viva-Voce marks.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates must register and apply online through the HPSC website using their mobile number or Aadhaar number.
  • The application process consists of registration, filling in particulars, fee payment and final submission of the signed application form.
  • After payment, candidates must download, check, sign and upload the application form along with the required certificates and documents.
  • Applications without the signed application form or required documents will be rejected.
  • No change in category or other application particulars will be allowed after final submission.
  • If multiple applications are submitted, only the application with the highest or latest application number will be considered.
  • Candidates must upload photographs, signatures, educational certificates, category certificates, Aadhaar card, Haryana domicile certificate where applicable, experience certificates and other relevant documents.
  • E-Admit Cards will be made available online before the examination. No admit card will be sent by post.
  • Candidates must regularly check the HPSC website and public notices for further communication.
  • Mobile phones, pagers, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, cameras, programmable devices, storage media and other electronic equipment are prohibited in the examination venue.
  • PwBD candidates may receive compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour in each paper after obtaining the required medical certificate and Commission permission. Requests for a scribe must be submitted at least five days before the examination.
