Age Limit
Age as on 01/01/2026:

Age Relaxation (upper age limit) as per rules in CEN:
- OBC-NCL: 3 Years
- SC/ST: 5 Years
- Ex-Servicemen (with at least 6 months service after attestation): UR/EWS 3 years, OBC-NCL 6 years, SC/ST 8 years (after deduction of length of service from age)
- PwBD: OBC-NCL 13 Years, SC/ST 15 Years (PwBD relaxation also applicable for UR as per suitability)
- Railway Staff (Group C / erstwhile Group D) with minimum 3 years service: UR/EWS 40 years, OBC-NCL 43 years, SC/ST 45 years
- Widowed / Divorced / Judicially separated women (not remarried): UR 35 years, OBC-NCL 38 years, SC/ST 40 years
- Course Completed Act Apprentices (Railway Establishments) for ITI/CCAA qualification posts: relaxation up to apprenticeship training period (max 3 years UR/EWS, max 6 years OBC-NCL inclusive, max 8 years SC/ST inclusive)

Result Details
How the merit is prepared / next stages after result
- The exam is primarily a single stage CBT (RRB may conduct CBT in single or multi-stage mode).
- Candidates qualifying in CBT are called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
- PET is followed by Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME).
Shortlisting ratios
- Shortlisting for PET is done RRB/RRC-wise at the rate of 3 times the vacancies (may increase/decrease as per requirement).
- Shortlisting for DV & Medical is done RRB/RRC-wise at the rate of 1:1 of vacancies, based on merit in CBT and qualifying PET.
Negative marking
- CBT has negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.
Minimum qualifying marks (for shortlisting)
- UR: 40%
- EWS: 40%
- OBC-NCL: 30%
- SC: 30%
- ST: 30%
PwBD relaxation: minimum qualifying marks may be relaxed by up to 2 marks in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against reserved vacancies.
Tie-breaking rule
If two or more candidates secure the same marks:
- Older candidate gets higher merit.
- If age is same, alphabetical order (A to Z) of given name (not surname) is used.
Important instructions for candidates after result
- Candidates must download all notices, city intimation, e-call letters and updates only from the official RRB/RRC websites.
- Document Verification requires original certificates; no extra time is provided if originals are not produced.
- Medical fitness is mandatory as per the medical standard of the post; candidates found medically unfit will not be given alternate appointment.

PET Criteria (qualifying):
- Male: Carry 35 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes (one chance) + Run 1000 meters in 4 min 15 sec (one chance)
- Female: Carry 20 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes (one chance) + Run 1000 meters in 5 min 40 sec (one chance)
Exemptions:
- PwBD candidates (as per CEN) are exempted from PET.
- Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET.
- Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA) are exempted from PET.
