Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the official notice for Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2025. Candidates can use this page to understand the exam schedule, eligibility, fee, exam pattern, PET/PST standards (Havaldar) and the process that will be followed up to the final result and document verification.

As per the notice, Havaldar tentative vacancies are 1,075, while MTS vacancies are being collected and will be updated on SSC website.

Age is calculated as on 01/08/2025.

  • MTS: 18 to 25 years (Born not before 02/08/2000 and not later than 01/08/2007)
  • Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) and a few MTS posts: 18 to 27 years (Born not before 02/08/1998 and not later than 01/08/2007)

Eligibility / Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th) or equivalent from a recognized board on or before 01/08/2025.
  • Candidates must be able to produce original certificates/mark sheets at the time of Document Verification (DV).

Selection Process

  1. Computer Based Examination (CBE)
    • Session-I (Qualifying)
    • Session-II (Merit)
  2. PET / PST (Only for Havaldar)
  3. Document Verification (DV) by User Department after final result

The CBE will be held in two mandatory sessions on the same day.

Medium of Exam

CBE will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri (Metei/Meithei), Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.

  • MTS: Pay Level-1 (7th CPC Pay Matrix), Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
  • Havaldar (CBIC & CBN): Pay Level-1 (7th CPC Pay Matrix), Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial

Result Details

How SSC Prepares Merit / Result

  • Session-I is evaluated first; Session-II is evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Session-I.
  • Merit list is prepared based on normalized scores of Session-II.
  • For MTS, SSC may have separate cut-offs based on:
    • Age group (18–25 and 18–27)
    • Category
    • State/UT
  • For Havaldar, candidates are shortlisted for PET/PST in 1:7 ratio (vacancies:candidates) based on Session-II performance.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Male:

  • Height: 157.5 cm (relaxable by 5 cm for Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and Scheduled Tribes)

Female:

  • Height: 152 cm (relaxable by 2.5 cm for Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and Scheduled Tribes)
  • Weight: 48 kg (relaxable by 2 kg for Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and Scheduled Tribes)

Document Verification (DV)

  • DV will be conducted by User Departments/Organizations after declaration of final result.
  • Candidates must produce original documents including:
    • Matriculation/Secondary certificate
    • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), if applicable
    • PwBD certificate, if applicable
    • ESM documents, if applicable
    • Any age relaxation supporting document, if applicable
