For the Main Written Examination, the fee is ₹225 for Unreserved, EWS, OBC and candidates from other states; ₹105 for SC/ST candidates of Uttar Pradesh and Ex-Army Personnel of Uttar Pradesh; and ₹25 as online processing fee for eligible PH candidates of Uttar Pradesh.
Age Limit
Candidates must be 21 to 40 years of age as on 01/07/2025. Applicants must have been born between 02/07/1985 and 01/07/2004.
The maximum age limit for PH candidates is 55 years, with the relevant date-of-birth condition specified in the notification.
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST/OBC candidates of Uttar Pradesh: 5 years.
- Uttar Pradesh State Government employees, including eligible teachers and staff: 5 years.
- PH candidates of Uttar Pradesh: maximum age limit of 55 years.
- Emergency Commissioned Officers, Short Service Commissioned Officers and Ex-Army Personnel of Uttar Pradesh: 3 years plus the period of military service.
- Candidates who are not permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh are not eligible for the reservation or age-relaxation benefits applicable to Uttar Pradesh categories.

The number of vacancies may increase or decrease according to government requirements and circumstances. PH subcategories identified in the notification include blindness/low vision, deaf/hard of hearing, locomotor disability, intellectual disability and other notified categories.
Eligibility and Qualification
For subjects including Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Mathematics, Military Science, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, Urdu, Zoology, Statistics, Computer Science and Persian, candidates generally require:
- A Master's degree with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade, in the concerned, relevant or allied subject from a recognised Indian university or an equivalent foreign university.
- Qualification in NET conducted by UGC/CSIR, or an equivalent UGC-accredited SLET/SET examination; or an eligible Ph.D. qualification under applicable UGC Regulations.
- A 5% relaxation in the minimum marks at Bachelor's and Master's level is available for eligible SC, ST, OBC Non-Creamy Layer and differently-abled candidates.
- A 5% relaxation from 55% to 50% at Master's level is available to Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's degree before 19/09/1991.
- NET/SLET/SET exemption may apply to eligible Ph.D. holders registered before 11/07/2009, subject to the conditions prescribed by UGC.
- NET/SLET/SET is not required for Master's programmes in disciplines for which the relevant eligibility test is not conducted.
- For Drawing and Painting, Music Gayan, Music Vadan-Sitar and Music Vadan-Tabla, eligible traditional or professional artists with a Bachelor's degree and highly commendable achievements may also qualify under the alternative conditions given in the notification.
Candidates with foreign Ph.D. degrees may qualify where the degree is from an institution ranked among the top 500 in the relevant world university rankings of QS, THE or ARWU.

The General Studies syllabus includes General Science, national and international current affairs, Indian history including the national movement, Indian polity and economy, Indian and world geography, mental ability and statistical data analysis, with special reference to Uttar Pradesh.

Interview
The interview/personality test carries 25 marks, or marks as prescribed by the applicable government order. Final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Main Written Examination and Interview.
On the basis of the Preliminary Examination, candidates up to 15 times the number of vacancies will be declared successful for admission to the Main Written Examination.
Result Details
Candidates should visit the UPPSC website and open the Results, Notifications/Advertisements or Candidate Dashboard section. They should select the relevant Assistant Professor, Government Degree College Examination-2025 result notice and download the result or merit list. The candidate should use the roll number, registration details or other credentials mentioned in the result notice.
Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination must complete the separate Main Examination application process within the time prescribed by UPPSC. The Main Examination will be conducted against the same roll number allotted for the Preliminary Examination. The examination date, centre, roll number and e-Admit Card details will be communicated separately.
The minimum efficiency standard is 35% for SC/ST candidates and 40% for candidates of other categories in the Preliminary/Main Examination. Candidates selected for appointment must undergo medical examination as required under the applicable rules.

Important Examination Instructions
- Candidates must use a black ball-point pen only in the OMR answer sheet.
- More than one answer marked for a question will be treated as a wrong answer and will attract the prescribed penalty.
- No penalty is imposed for a question left blank.
- Candidates must not use whitener, blade, pin, rubber or other prohibited material on the OMR sheet.
- The OMR answer sheet will be issued in three copies: original, preserved and candidate's copy.
- Candidates must preserve their OTR, fee-payment, final-submission and application records.
- Original certificates and self-attested copies must be produced when required by the Commission.
- False information, forged documents, concealment of facts, copying, canvassing or other malpractice may lead to cancellation and debarment from future UPPSC examinations.

Reservation and Preference
Reservation is applicable according to Uttar Pradesh government rules for eligible SC, ST, OBC, EWS and horizontal categories. Reservation and age relaxation benefits are generally restricted to permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh. A candidate may receive only one concession where multiple reservation or age-relaxation categories are claimed.
Preferential qualification may be given to candidates who have served in the Territorial Army for at least two years, obtained a 'B' Certificate of the National Cadet Corps, or demonstrated high proficiency in debates, seminars, games, sports and other co-curricular activities.
The application process is OTR-based. Candidates must obtain an OTR number before applying online and must complete fee payment through the prescribed SBI MOPS options, including net banking, card payment or other available payment modes.
